How Low Can You Go? My Outback on the Ground
3 Attachment(s)
So I just had Epic/Koni's with Legacy struts housing installed by infamous down in North San Diego County. Love the look, have some rubbing issues that's I'll be grinding/cutting/melting away tomorrow but am really happy with it. The epics are a bit of a bummer in that the ride isn't the BMW like ride I was looking for but the look is a killer...On the Freeway it's a nice ride until a big hit then you are on the stops but until then it's pretty good. I am on soft right now and am hoping I can dial things in once I fit the rubbing.

Looks great

Love it!

Looks sweet!

I just installed H&R springs and love them. Rides smooth... I'd swap to H&R if I were you. Epics aren't a good match up for the Legacy wagon's, just my opinion.

Not a fan of the finish on the wheels, but otherwise

Wheels have a matte finish that I spray with some satin stuff to keep them fresh. What's the difference between the H & R's and the Epics? curious.

Love the stance. Where are you rubbing? I'm on yellows with rallitek and I rub when I make a full turn going into a driveway. The rubbing is the inner back wheel well.

OB setup is volk ce28 17x7.5 on 225/55

No Rubbing any longer, Pulled both plastic fenders and cut and re rolled each fender. Primered. cut inner plastic tabs from the plastic fender and trimmed all the edge off. heated and pushed back the inner plastic fender too. Rides good now. My tires are 235/45/19's. No rubbing on the back. Rubber trim has been removed.

Sits like mine on bilsteins and pinks, except mine has that BMW ride.

natoli4 10-18-2011 11:25 AM

hmmmm, was gonna go bilsteins and stockers springs but was recommended in this directions.

I thought the back inner fender wheel well was harder then plastic.

Agreed, looks awesome but my old ass couldn't handle a harsh ride either.

Hope you can work out the bugs on comfort.

I'm riding my wagon on Bilsteins and Pinks too but it's not that slammed. And the ride is super compliant.

natoli4 10-18-2011 02:57 PM

well, ride is good until you hit a bit hit then not so good but the highway driving is really nice...probably need sways too to clean up the lean in long sweepers...gonna keep playing with the dials I think.

what are you alignment specs?

natoli4 10-18-2011 03:01 PM

tires are almost gone and I need to size down to 225's when I replace them, then off to West End Alignment for Darin to work his magic...I'll let you know!
