HKS Silent High Power Mufflers

Just got the mufflers installed 2 days ago, sounds abit like a beemer with remus at idle. Its more bassy than before and under acceleration you do not get the lalalala sound associated with the equal length manifold only around the mid-range you get sought of a wet fart sound then the high end sounds like a Honda Civic. You'll get heads to turn with its N1 looks and sound but its not cheap costing me $1500 in Singapore dollars. In power delivery i noticed a minor gain in the peak end with a drop in the low end but pretty much happy wih the purchase.

$900USD? Was that just for the cans? Any pictures?

Sound clip would be a nice bonus too...

do you have any pictures? Or Sound clips? Do the they get raspy at all? Thanks!

Haha sandwood. That's funny.

Also guys keep in mind they have the 2.0L w/ equal length headers, while we have the 2.5L w/ unequal length headers. Therefore the 2.5L cars have more of that characteristic boxer burble.

Any pics or sound clips or video clips, thezone? I love those mufflers.

So more displacement = more burble?

I dunno I thought it was cuz of the unequal length headers!

team23jordan 10-19-2005 09:24 PM

the boxer rumble is from the unequal length headers

jarrod 10-20-2005 02:41 PM

why would you want it to sound like a honda civic?

Don't forget they have a different set up than we do in the U.S. They have stock equal length headers, while we have stock unequal length headers. Equal length headers provide more power than unequal. Also, think of sound waves and superposition. When the waves come out in phase (like in equal length), they do constructive interference. When they are out of phase (like in unequal length) at the right timing, they do that burble.
