Steering wheel volume
 

My volume switch mounted on the steering wheel started working intermittently and now will not work at all.

Did anyone else have this happen? Just curious of what the fix was before I go through the warranty.

Mine still works fine....just drop it at the dealer.

There is a TSB about the clock spring having used the wrong type of grease It was eating the contacts. I'd look into that.

My up volume works intermittently. I've had it back to the dealer and they cannot reproduce it. I'm sure it will eventually stop working completely and I'll take it back in. Kinda sucks.

When this happens next time, can you humor me and lower/raise and telescope in/out the steering wheel?

That is actually not a bad idea. My car did have the steering wheel wiring recall. The track up/down has started to go out on occasion as well.

I know if I make an appointment it will function fine, so I'll probably just end up driving in some day it isn't working and have them come out to the parking lot and look at it. In the dealers defense, they messed around with it for about 30 minutes and couldn't replicate the problem.

Mine started doing this yesterday!! It's all the buttons on the left side...
I am gonna take it in Saturday...

This happened to to me after the clock spring was replaced after I failed inspection because my horn stopped working...now none of my audio controls work. Talked to a friend who works in the service department at my dealership and he told me to bring it in, it is a known issue and will be fixed without question

Mine's been doing this for the pass 3 months, once in a while the tune button goes out also. Been having problems with the blutooth not connecting automatically as i turn on the car...it's been going on for the same amount of time as the intermittent volume control. not sure if it's related, could just be my phone.

I'll have to try my steering wheel buttons. I didn't know there was an issue. I've been adjusting the sound level via the radio dial. Thanks for the heads up. :)

My seek up button works intermittently now too, and there have been a few occasions where the seek forward/backward/up/down button on the radio won't work either.

I'm also starting to get interference when listening to my ipod through the media hub. The noise goes up and down based on throttle position and volume. Turn the volume all the way down and the noise stops.

I think I'm going to have to break down and go to the dealer :spin:

....went to dealer on Friday...they ordered a totally new steering wheel button panels (volume n tune buttons and the cruise control). Going back this coming Friday for the install.

Starting to exhibit this problem as well.
