My Car in Pictures - 2011 3.6R Ltd.

I thought I'd make my own thread about my car and it's modifications and add ons. Because this is the Image Forum, I'll put together all the pictures of the stuff I've done to my car to date and in the future.

Enjoy!

The car a couple days after I got it in February 2011. Subies love snow!

Tearing apart a brand new car is a little tough sometimes. You just need to get in there and do it.

Then came the HID install. That was rough on the hands. Next time I pull the front bumper and the entire lamp assembly.

I found the easiest way was to just pull the front wheel and fender liner all the way down and then I could get my fat hands into the area where the main headlight bulbs live.

The next thing was to black out that chrome grill.

Again, tearing appart a new car can be tough sometimes. I got over the fear of messing something up with a little help from my internet friends!

Then came the Front Lip Spoiler. Or as others so kindly pointed out to me, I put a garage door seal on the front of my car. Either way I think it came out nice.

The end result was what I was looking for, something a little different from the other 5th Gen Legacys running around.

Early on the windows got tinted all the way around with a wicked dark 20% 3M tint and a clear bra was installed. That cost me a total of $575 for both, which got rolled into the finacing of the car. Well worth it!

Then I De-Badged the trunk, a bit...

I left the 3.6R badge back there because without the hoodscoop of the GT cars to tell those in the know what my car is, it could easily be thought to be a 2.5i Legacy.

As I type this up, I have the factory fog light kit coming and hopefully I'll have some new install pictures to post up with a slightly different look to my car!

Stay tuned! ;)

Another thing that I've done to the car is clear bra, hard to photograph and really not exciting.

But I did install the factory Fog Light kit today. It was a pretty easy install and they look great!

More to come, maybe something having to do with exhaust or springs. Not sure which I want to do first. But I might also open up the factory airbox a bit and cut out the back side diamond holes in that new right hand fog light grill. The bottom of the airbox is directly behind and above that opening.

OK, so now the front end is all mostly De-Chromed. Blacked out the chrome with some Ultra-Flat black paint. And then instead of "Clearing" the amber lenses, I painted them with a black lens shading spray. I still wanted the amber to show through on the turn signals and side marker light, but I didn't want to see the amber without the lights being on. And for the turn signal, I also didn't want to simply clear that lens out and show the chrome behind it. I love the stealthy look of this headlamp now. It's simular to ikonosin's car, but with my own twists.

Here you can see the side marker glowing through. It's actually a lot brighter than what is shown here. And I also hit the righ turn signal and shot it while it was glowing to show that the amber can still be seen. Again, it's brighter in person. The flash is washing the color and intensity out.

I also added a set of RGB, 80mm Angel Eyes to the mix. This is the left headlamp with the AE's glowing Red. Don't worry, it can also be set to glow Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple as well as White. And they are dimable. The red is just creepy and demonic!

And then a couple of the full front end. One slightly under exposed to see the lights better and one fully exposed to see the blacks better.

My wife like the purple. I like the red and green! Silly, I know...

Great job. I need to see your car in person. I like the side mod you did on the headlight. I just had mine done by IDRVSLO.

Thanks! We need to have a Denver/Front Range 5th Gen meeting some time this summer. There are enough of us on this board.
