Rotated Kit questions

http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...TurboKit.shtml
will this kit be a direct bolt on or will some custom work be required? I drive an 06 lgt.

or can I reuse/customize some of the parts that I have perrin UP, perrin 2pc downpipe...new to this and I've searched and havent found a clear cut answer...

Have you conversed with the vendor?

you cannot reuse your old equipment. I would look into an AMS rotated kit if you want something really nice. You better be prepared for what you are venturing into. Your car will never be the same.AMS makes a 08 WRX kit that should be pretty much bolt on wirth some slight mods to fit and all the supporting mods.

i love how the 'hot" side pipe is running beside the intake pipe

looks like you might need some custom piping done if you dont buy everything from them

Not sure if that was a sarcastic comment or not but most FMIC kits will do this on our cars. My intake(stock hacked) sits right on the hot side charge pipe.

Darkness of Death 02-28-2010 11:35 AM

yeah it was. mine is the same way

I like to keep the hot side at least 2 feet away from the cold side.

05lgt5spd 02-28-2010 11:45 AM

cold, cold, cold, warm, warm, HOT! HOT! HOT!

Darkness of Death 02-28-2010 11:52 AM

what?

LosAngelesLGT 02-28-2010 12:02 PM

I keep the hot side in the other car.

+1

Look to the AMS kit for the 08 WRX; after all, everything that matters is the same with regards to turbocharging and intercooling. Maybe the AMS bumper beam won't work, but then again, maybe it would.

it would good if it does. i need a bumper beam.

Contact IAG, they'll have a legacy kit ready by the end of March. And their kit has V-Band just like AMS. Both kits are the tits, but IAG might be cheaper and bolt in.

lil_z_33 03-04-2010 09:35 AM

sorry for laziness...v-band? can you elaborate on the what and the benefits?

Go~Rilla 03-04-2010 01:45 PM

V-band is a way of connecting piping to piping or piping to turbos and wastegates. Creates a better seal and allows for quick interchange. It's what all the better rotated kits use.
