5EAT Pride!
Heard this idea mentioned in a few threads so I'm going to start one. lets see some stats, pics, ideas, ect. on 5EAT subies!:spin::spin::spin:
Are you talking about the suggestion that we start a 5EAT Club? :D
I have a feeling the the MT guys wouldn't be able to help themselves from trolling this thread too. That being said, 5EAT-er here on a Stage 2 set-up. ATF cooler, RalliteK tranny mount, IPT valve body mod, 75k going strong, plenty happy with it. The thing shifts amazing under WOT and full boost. Comparable cars always fall behind with every MT shift, no matter how spotless, short of flat foot shifting :D |
thats exactly what im suggesting. too much 5eat bashing around here. and yes nothing holds boost like an AT! im looking into the VB mod. just did the cooler and shifts already seem alil more crisp
5EAT here. Stg 1.5 from Rallitek, IPT valve body, Amsol fluid 17 psi boost. Shifts are great! Going stg 2 with fmic and dp in srping 2010 with a tranny cooler. possibly hta68 after that
I was stage 2 for about 60k miles. I just had a vf52 installed. I haven't put a tranny cooler b/c I"m lazy..it's been sitting around for more than 2 years. I have the IPT vb waiting to be put in. Funny thing is, I'm actually a little nervous about putting the IPT VB in since I havent' really run into transmission problems....but it's going in soon for sure.
Ive only had one issue with my dirveline and its wasnt even the transmission. last winter i was trying to get the GT up my dads fairly steep driveway with about 6 inches of snow and ice under neath. started to slip so like an idiot i punched it, tires spun and i heard alot bag. i ended up blowing up my center diff. they covered it under warranty and i had them shim it up to stregnthen it up alil and it feels great. they did tell me that when they tore down the tranny to service the center diff, they said it was spotless.
You blew the center diff by gunning it on ice? wow!
yea the clutch packs welded themselves together, probably the best weld ive ever done lol thats why i picked up a beater for the winter,
Didn't want to be the first to post and get flamed. So, I guess its safe now that fishbone went first. No 5EAT bashing from me, I've owned two (05 and current 08). I also have a Spec B. My 5EAT is FASTER! (for now)

^ The rear diff is easy (if you can get the drivers side cross member bolt out). There are threads about this.
The car has never been on a dyno. I have had Shamar do several different tunes on the car. The current tune is at about 230-240whp and 250-260tq on an airboy spread sheet. When I was in NYC and had 93 octane the car could hit higher. Looking to get it to Fontana and try a few 1/4 miles. With a little boost launch I am sure the car can hit mid to low 13's. I know that with the current tune it BLOWS THE DOORS OFF my SpecB (stock). I have even taken out a 944 from a dead stop. He didn't know what the hell happened when I launched off the line. Oh and I gave the keys to the wife last month when I picked up the Spec B. |
heres mine
Don't feel like listing all the mods but here are some pics http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...t/IMG_0117.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...t/IMG_0122.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...t/IMG_0124.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...g?t=1253577288 |
Very Nice! I will need new Meats for the SpecB soon (and another set of RPF-1's if you can beat Jeremy's price). I work in Irvine. I'll need to hook up with you.
