Aftermarket Rims for the 2010 Legacy

So, the rims that came with my new Legacy are a bit pathetic, on mine at least. 16's are too small. I'm looking to get some bigger ones, at least 18's.

Anyone know the bolt pattern and other sizes that may go into buying new rims?
Will 20's fit without looking retarded?
What happens with the TPMS when you get new rims?

I've never bought rims before so please put your personal experiences so I don't make an avoidable mistake.

Thanks!

not sure what the factory wheel offset on the new legacy is, but wheels that fit older legacys should fit the new one as well. the 2010 retains teh 5x100 bolt pattern. And a check on tirerack.com give a bunch of wheel choices for your car.

Have any insight as to what happens with the TPMS? Do I need to buy additional hardware for the rims?

What happens is that you learn to hate TPMS :)

You have to get sensors in the new wheels and hope that yoou local Subaur dealer will sync them up for free each time you swap, or you can buy a spare TPMS computer and have them sync it once, or hope that they changed the system for 10 so that you can do it yourself.

I like TPMS. I call it my "you have awesome wheels/tires" light. Each time I look down and see it on, it reminds me that i can grip turns alot better than with the stock wheels/tires.

Grrr. I have the TPMS on my 05 with 08 SpecB wheels. No computer to pick up the signal :(

Take some time to dig around the different sub-forums for pics, tire/rim info, prices, deals (classifieds), ... See what others have tried and what you think looks good.

18's are a great choice for the Legacy, once you get lower then 40 profiles the ride can get harse. Weight is a factor to consider too.

My buddy works at the Subaru dealer so I'll have him ask some of the mechanics what can be done as far as the TPMS goes.

I think 18's are as big as I'll go.

What do you guys think? A or B?

Do you have a link for the GT wheels so I can see the look you're talking about??

Picking wheels is really difficult.
