Trunk Debadging

Good news! All of the badging is held on with double sided tape...no holes into the trunk. Easy de-badge instructions:

1. Leave Car out in sun to get glue good and hot.
2. Once the glue is good and hot, use fishing line under the edges of the emblems to cut through the double-sided tape, remove badges.
3. Using a rubbing motion the remaining glue with ball up and come off the car in globs.
4. Final clean with "GooGone" brand goo remover.
5. Follow up with some wax.

Yeah I'm beginning to agree with you...I thought I should leave it so I did...but now it's starting to seem out of place. I'm gonna leave it for a few days and then decide.

CombatCQB 06-26-2004 07:31 PM

I think if you lower the 2.5GT to the corner of the trunk lid, it might look okay. Or get rid of the 2.5 and keep just the GT.

Thanks for doing the debadge for us! Your instructions are so easy. Let's just hope now that people won't do it to our cars without us knowing....

Anyways, I agree with the others. The 2.5GT does look out of place. Maybe if you relocated it lower or something?

Thanks for the update. That will be easy, and the first thing I do when I get mine! (whenever that is...)

What about the Subaru badge? Does it have locating pins?

Opie 06-29-2004 08:00 PM

What's up Rao? :)

Not sure about the Subaru stars emblem, I didn't attempt to remove that one and the back of it is covered by the trunk interior.

rao 06-29-2004 08:08 PM

And  get out in the garage and take the trunk apart

Oh well, I will have to check one out in person some time.

rao 07-12-2004 01:57 PM

The Subaru badge is set into the body so even if it dosen't have pins it would look awful with an oval drepression in the middle of the trunk.

rao 07-21-2004 01:01 PM

The badge on the sedan is not recessed. I am not srue if it has pins or if it can be removed without a trace. Stay tuned.....

agctr 07-21-2004 07:31 PM

Opie, maybe if u just took the 2.5 away and left the GT that would look pretty good and not out of place at all.

And for all asking about the Subaru Logo Badge, I would either leave it or put an STi one on but for the colour of Opie's car, it matches perfectly!

Dental floss works as well. I used that for my current car, b15. Just another idea incase you dont have fishing line available. :D

Drift Monkey 08-06-2004 12:33 PM

I'm probably gonna debage everything but "Legacy" ala the JDM B4. :D

Edit: done.

Edit: Pic.
