MAP
Do any of you have this cubby gauge pod? I already bought a piece of acrylic to make one then ran across this one. If i would have known about it I would have just bought it. But since I already bought the acrylic I would like to try making one. Do any of you guys have this thing and if so would you be able to take some measurements? If not, Ill just do some trial and error til I get it to fit right. Thanks. Greywolf
Yes, i got it like 2 weeks ago. You REMOVE the back part of your cubby (woops, drilled thru it thinking it says in there). I bought this and it really only takes about 2 mins to install once you have the air vents out. (which you just pull on...so add another 1-2 mins). Instructions are semi-easy to follow. Works great, one concern is the gauge themselves, make sure that they don't have a thick rim around the glass, otherwise it interrupts door a little bit. Thumbs up to the maker, really fits nicely. LosAngelesLGT
Do you want your cubby to close with the gauges inside? No rattles or double stick tape? Mine fits perfect. Don't make one. Just buy one. That are not expensive. Be cautious about taking advice without seeing install pics. http://www.jcs-pods.com/legacy05.html

MAP
Thanks. Thats the same place i grabbed the pic from. Does the "L" piece at the bottom end up under the gauges or in front of them? So this thing isnt secured in any way? Is it a snug fit?
Greywolf
Very snug fit, doesn't move around at all, no rattle that I've noticed and I've had music down while listening to engine thx to paranoia from a bad mechanic I'm taking to court. The L piece is in front of gauges, it fits into the trim RIGHT above the time display.
Greywolf
In fact, tonight I'll be pulling my vents out to install my 2nd gauge, I'll show you how everything goes together. Look for pix around 5 mtn time (4 pacific) on this thread.

LosAngelesLGT
Couldnt find the pics of my install. I know they are around somewhere. Pretty sure after you see how it fits together in Greywolf's pics you will see why its worth doing it this way. Its very simple but smart design that works well. boostedyota90
I am very interested in getting that pod from JSC, but does anyone know if they still make the same pod that angles the gauges towards the driver? I have seen it from the originals that Casopolis had made.
ChefRacer
I have this gauge pod and I like it a lot. I would reccomend it to anybody who doesn't want gauges on the A pillar. Between the simple but ingenious design, and the reasonable price...I would reccomend buying the jcs pod. There aren't too many people these days who make a well designed product for our cars, even a simple one who don't try to rip you off for it. LosAngelesLGT
angle toward driver totally unneeded and might prevent door from closing cleanly.
iNVAR
I have the one from Casopolis that is angled toward the driver, door closes fine and I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed the angle.

Greywolf
Here are plenty of pictures for ya. I don't have the gauges wired yet, waiting for a few more days until I tear everything apart. Also don't have my clock plugged in on the pic. http://s159.beta.photobucket.com/user/Greywolf17171717/library/Subaru Edit: Sorry, my poor car is dirty, leave windows cracked thanks to mechanic cracking head a little and having to deal with a very small leak of oil that burns until I have time to sue him. bomberlegacy
New photos of the gauges. I think I got a bad sender for the boost gauge. I have verified the wiring and the vacuum plumbing and it all seems fine, but the gauge stays pegged at 30"Hg http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b514/sclegacy08/rps20121112_162807_zps2e303769.jpg http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b514/sclegacy08/rps20121112_162836_zpsb9ec0d7c.jpg Lights on http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b514/sclegacy08/rps20121112_162854_zpsf2a5225c.jpg '08 Legacy 2.5i - hybrid intake - delta 1000 - E85 - magnaflow exhaust

LosAngelesLGT
Greywolf its the same one I have but I am running AEM WB AFR and AEM boost gauges. The "foot" comes forward toward the front and the entire cubby back, the actual storage space, is removed completely.
MAP
I received the cubby gauge pod and installed it today with some autometer cobalt boost and voltmeter gauge. The gauge pod fit perfectly. The only issue was that the gauges were too bright compared to my dash so I wired in some resistors to reduce the voltage to the gauges. Thanks formthe feedback guys. MAP
I'll take a few today. What's the typical vacuum for this engine at idle with no load?(i.e. in park or neutral) I compared the vacuum on the cobalt gauge to a vacuum gauge from harbor freight and its off by about .5 in. Hg. What does the vacuum read at first start up? I wanted to install the boost/vacuum gauge for the extra engine info( i like gauges, hate idiot lights) and also to help troubleshoot another little problem that I can't seem to figure out.
