dspl1236
Well I posted the other day in the what did you do today thread. This is my first Subaru. I LOVE wagons. I come from many years of old Quattros and swaps. so far ill i have needed is 2 screwdrivers a 10mm and 12mm. This is a nice "stepping" out of the german world for me. bit burned out. last Thursday I picked up a 1996 Brighton Wagon 224k 5speed. had a check engine light for a lean trim condition. first thing i did was synthetic oil change. new pvc check valve, ngk plugs, and a fuel filter. Also had a 1/4" hole in the exhaust right off the head. fixed that and the check engine light went out. passed ohio emissions check. cool. Also visited a few pull-a-parts..snagged up a Tach, door, fender, outback bumpers, scooped hood, cup holder, radio, dual piston front calipers, and a rubber trunk liner. need one more door......then all fresh alpine paint. I will also repaint the stock non scooped hood to swap around to see what like best also tossed on a set of 16" vw wheels i had laying around last night Current Quattros 1991 200 20vt - been down for a year...standalone ect.... 1991 Coupe Quattro - 3.6 v8 swaping, standalone, ITB's, coilovers -still building 1995 90cs - dieing daily 253k -will be for sale soon
MissJapaneseSubaru
Nice! I have the same problem where the exhaust header meets the block. Did you weld the piece on the hole? Or did you get new headers. Looking forward to see what you do next. Sent from my SPH-M580BST using Tapatalk

sdavidson7014
wagon looks like its coming along good man, i also come from a vw/audi background so i know what you mean about the simplicity of working on these motors, having all that space to work in the bay is insane! I Donated broknindarkagain Posted May 9, 2012 I Donated Share Posted May 9, 2012 I have tons of parts...if its something that I don't have I can get my hands on it for pretty cheap. I've sold parts to a bunch of people on here before. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." dspl1236
ya i hit two local junkyards for a maf, 5 of the 6 cars had the mafs missing...and the 6th had the airbox cover upside down collecting water....pass f it get a reman with a 1yr warranty EJ20G heads & ECU? that all it takes? what exactly is needed to stock turbo the ej22? not looking for huge power, just a bump. i have 2 monsters if i want a monster
monkeyposeur
It takes a bit more than that, lol. Quite a few people have turboed the EJ22 and there are some build threads on rs25 and nasioc. But unless you have all the parts laying around it can be quite expensive and you are just better off getting a turbo engine and swapping it. I want EJ20G heads for my EJ22T, which is already a turbo engine. The 20G heads flow a lot better than the stock 22T heads. I want a 20G ecu so I can send it to rob and he puts in a performance chip. I was given a 22T for free and I am going to rebuild it and put it in my wagon.
