SpecBamf41
Is it possible that the lifters in my hla heads could "fall" after sitting up right for so long. When I bolt my cam's on it holds the valves open 24/7. I just turn them upside down and shot some liquid wrench on them so try and get them to close back up. When you do a gable job how much farther can the valves really move up in the heads? johnegg
what engine, 95 ej22 ?? did you ''prime'' and clean the HLAs before you installed the engine? i have heard of the giudes? dropping? whatever that means. but it is so rare i have not heard of the cause. so maybe that is your problem but i would double check everything else twice before you starting in this direction. are all valvse standing open? or just intake, or just one side of the engine? are the cams the same ones that came on the head? SpecBamf41
I have not even started the car yet. This is on the motor I'm putting together. My problem was that all the lifters were stuck. Bolting them in and letting them sit in mid lift helped to lossen them And yes. None of the valves would close all the way if I had bolted them up. What's the best way to lossen them so they are spungy again. These are 96 hla dohc. The buckets with hla.
