outback bumper replacements

While browsing through threads. It got me thinking that the outback owners may not be able to replace their bumpers to others.

The regular GT has a flat smooth end while the outback has a flare to meet up with the fender flares.

Would the flat smooth end look funny on an outback? There are no real lip kits out there for the outback and the I love the look of the hippo sleek but feel that it would not line up correctly with the outback body lines.

So far this is the only one I can find on the internet.

made by Corazon and is $1100+ per piece. Not so sure if I want to spend $2k on 2 bumpers.

It's hard to tell from pictures, but the OB/LGT grills are also different. I'm not sure if the hood/bumper meet exactly the same, but if I put my old 05 OBXT grille on my 05 LGT (I was just looking at it last night w/my wife), there are noticeable gaps on the sides. That probably also means a custom grill if you do find a suitable LGT bumper and do the bodywork to add the wheel arch flares.

Anyway - I think Blitzen also offered an OB bumper, but I could be wrong. Certainly - I don't think any of them are worth the expense - you'd be better served spending the cash on performance upgrades that make you smile - that's what I did anyway.

Hmm....anyone know more about this car? Not really digging the Porsche-like front end & rear bumper vents (or the excessive amount of vents in general), but the flared fenders look good. Based on the door trim molding it looks to be a Legacy Wagon versus an Outback, but i'm interested to know how they achieved the molded flared fenders...especially in the rear.

I just really wish they hadn't tried to copy the Porsche look. IMHO, it just looks lame when cars are made to emulate the styles of other cars (Eg: K2Gear and their M5-like bumpers, Corazon and their Audi-like bumpers, and this obviously Porsche-like bumper treatment). But I digress...

So, how about it? Anyone have any more info about this car? Inquiring minds want to know...:D

I've seen other Outback owners put on the STI lip. Can anyone show me closer details of what this actually look like on an Outback?

I'm sure there would be a lot of gap in the middle.

It can be done and a ton of people do it. I thought about doing it on my Outback but it doesn't look perfect and I'm on the "do it right or don't do it at all" boat. This thread is regarding the Legacy but people put it on the Outback too:
