quick4dr
hey on my way up my street i started smelling trans fluid. Pulled in my driveway and had an ocean under the car and a trail leading up my street. my tranny cooler line rupture and split. After I replace the line, what Trans Fluid is safe to add to the trans since Subaru is closed sundays and I cant get their stuff. What should I use, or should i wait till monday to add fluid, and just let the car sit after I replace the hose? how much damage can be done to my trans if i lost a lot of fluid over the course of about 2 football fields all at idle crawling. subielova88
Genuine Subaru Automatic Transmission Fluid IDEMITSU ATF HP Castrol Transmax J Pennzoil ATF J * * Available Only in the USA (except Alaska and Hawaii) Those are the only fluids you can use in your transmission, and you should be fine with your trans, i am a auto technician myself and I've seen worse things happening in the field to transmissions and they were ok, so fix your line and make you sure you check your fluid level the proper way...
