Steve ko
What advantage would removing the resonator have? I noticed some time ago mine has been replaced with a pipe (really professional job also) people I have asked can't give me an answer. forced compression
The advantage of just removing it and nothing else would be noise(maybe a little extra flow), if the entire pipe was replaced and upsize then you should flow more. Either way expect raspiness
gto7419
A resonator allows the exhaust manufacturer to "tune" the exhaust note. Usually this involves reducing certain frequencies to reduce drone.
BoyceWare
If you decide you want to put one on check out the vibrant 1141. I don't personally have this installed, but I bookmarked it after seeing some great reviews from other legacy owners. Shello007
I removed mine recently, but I have performance mufflers and DP. Needless to say, the flow was greatly improved and top end power got better. Ideally, I have my Boxer Rumble now, and it's a little contained.
