530ras
Hi. My 97 lgt needs a new shift knob, the current is so faded its ridiculous. I looked around a bunch on the net for a oe knob or other original subaru knobs but didnt have much luck, I was wondering a) do other subaru models knobs fit mine? I saw some nice sti ones but am not sure if they fit. B) Do you happen to know a site online that sells them legacy oe or sti wrx ect... thanks
Grimmrican
In my 95 bk my oe shift knob I replaced with a 99 impreza. Fit awesome no problems. Looked better too. I then went with a short shifter and neither of the oe knobs fit (too big) after some digging around I found a knob out of a mid 90s Honda civic knob and fit like a glove. Beer had a complaint about as well as I'm sure no one ever even noticed lol
BAC5.2
MT cars are M12x1.25 thread AT cars are M10x1.25 thread Anything with that thread will work. You might need to do some modifying to get the boot to fit for MT. Try eBay or any of our supporting vendors (http://www.infamousperformance.net is one I prefer and recommend) Flip Key Development Thread "Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped." - E. Sludgeroo
Go to ebay and search m12x1.25 shift knob and you should have more than enough options. The clip that holds the boot up is attached to the stock knob, so you wont have that anymore, but a m12x1.25 nut will work just fine, and that way you can adjust the height by tightening that jamb nut to whatever height the knob is at.
