Where to find JDM Console Box???

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where to find the JDM dual console box? I know Japan Parts has it, but its out of my price range with the shipping costs. Cheam Motors in UK used to sell it, but they are now out of business. AVO, Rallitek and MachV no longer sell it.

Part Number:

Armrest Extension with Additional Storage – Off Black - J2017AG000 (JDM#) or J2010AG001JC (EDM#)

...as seen here: http://www.japanparts.com/images/ImageFromDB.php?base=1&no=7955

How much is that thing? I almost pulled the trigger on the USDM extension today. I hadn't seen that one. It can't be much more than the $145 for the US one.

I want to say with shipping it was getting close to the $180-$200 range from japanparts. Cheam did a group buy about 3-4 years ago on these armrests, but it seems after that they were just difficult to come by. I really dont want to spend much over $140.

Looks like it's $144.10 plus shipping (~28.00 to me). It DOES say A/T only, and A-C only, and that it MIGHT NOT fit USDM models.

All three of those things go against my 09 M/T OBXT. I'd happily order one if someone could confirm fitment.

It definitely fits, it was confirmed about 5 years ago:

JDM Armrest extension installed

It says for A/T only because it *could* interfere with shifting...if you are short. Most people that have used it really like it, which is why they never show up in the member's classifieds used . Now this may not fit your model year, I believe they made a separate revision for the 08-09 models: http://www.cheammotors.co.uk/j2010ag020jc-i940.html

But, even though that link works, Cheam motors is currently closed down.

Hmm, I wonder if the "beige" is the same in EU as the Ivory in the US?

I'd do more legwork, but I just don't have the time right now. Definitely not going to get the USDM one though, now that I know something like this exists.

It only comes in 2 colors, Ivory/Beige and Off-Black/Grey. I think the colors are synonymous.

Pics?

It pretty much looks exactly like this. If you want pics from a different angle though let me know and I can go snap some.

I am interest about this too. Is it possible to take a few more from the side? Perhaps to stick a ruler or some sort for scale for how much the extension has increased vertically and horizontally?

Main reason for me to consider this is because I wish I can rest my elbow with just my right hand holding the steering wheel when cruising. I do not have a long arm, just afraid even with extension, my fore arm still would not fit

Also, I have a rather tall (over 9") water bottle that I love which I want to make sure it fit there perfectly.

Thanks Big Ticket!!

And makes my 1 liter Aquafina bottle lean forward just a little bit. The bottle's over 9" tall.

You're welcome! I know that part is a little pricey but I gotta say it provides the storage I was missing coming from a Honda Accord that had that extra storage space. I put a little coin holder in it and it also holds my gum, pens and other crap that I use often. It also is the same height as the armrest on the door so it's not like you lean more one way than the other like it use to be.

i'm a little confused on this. i have the extender that swings forward and up, and also opens up to a large cubby. does the one pictured here have two cubbies? if anyone has seen a Scion tC with the dual cubby, that's what i had pictured this as being. hmm "cubby" is a silly word...

What this box does is go inbetween the large storage area currently under your armrest extender and your armrest extender. However, you have to replace your armrest extender with a regular armrest. This piece then gives you an additional storage compartment between the armrest and itself, above, and then when you lift it up, you have the standard storage beneath.

It is kind of like the filling in a sandwich, with the bread being represented by your original storage as one piece and the armrest (not extendable one) as the other. The beauty is that this filling has depth to allow you to store other stuff as well . . .

Let's face it, interior storage space is at a premium in our cars and this can give you a little more . . .

Bump.

I got an email from Japanparts shortly after placing an order for a 2006-2008 JDM dual console:

By the way, as regards this particular item (subaru dual console: 107-116-010), we have been told several times that it does not fit onto USDM BP/BL D-F models. We have been also told that the one for earlier models (A-C) fits onto the USDM later models (D-F). Here's another dual console:

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?KEYWORD=&dealer=&car=&middlesmall=&maker=&VOLKEY=107-015-001&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

In either case, since all the parts on our site are for JDM, its installation onto non-JDM cannot be guaranteed.

Can anybody with an 08-09 Legacy confirm which JDM dual console fits on our cars?

2006-2008 JDM or 2003-2005 JDM?

Hey tito_b0y, I still had my original order email from Japanparts so I pulled the info. The correct one is the 2003-2005 JDM piece. Part # 107-015-001. I can confirm that I installed that into my 2008 Legacy with absolutely no fitment issues and no parts to hack up. Hope that helps anyone else before they order the wrong part.
