JMLegacy
driving at about 55MPH My right front wheel hit a small sink in the road then I heard a loud BANG. I swore I hit a stone or pothole, but further down in the road another dip caused the same effect again. Is my shocks bad? what could be causing it to bottom out? I'm on JDM springs and Gr-2 shocks

I'm on JDM springs and Gr-2 shocks This could be your issue, JDM springs with GR-2 shocks. You most likely hit a pot hole and may have killed the strut, we've seen this in NYC a few times. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Tokico D Specs- A step up from the AGXs very nicely constructed units. Konis- Top notch adjustable struts best thing short of going to coilovers for street, auto-x or track applications. Bilstiens- Great struts, but lack the adjustability of the Konis so I'd rate these as the best non-adjustable setup you can get. " I Like that post, informative. I am saving for the Konis then I have one question, if the struts are stiffer, does that lead to more likely damaging of other suspension (bushings) parts? That resembles something that I posted somewhere! You won't see any detriment to other things like bushings, however if you have broken bushings like the LCA bushings which are very common on these vehicles, you will see them come to light more prominently once you have a stiffer set of springs or struts. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. JMLegacy
yes, that's your post. Oh, I'm hearling a low toned clunk when driven on rough roads (think stony road, slow speed) I did an inspection today, they found no problems.

AZP Installs
Don't we also hear a noticeable 'bang' when the LCA bushings are shot? You could hear that but if the strut tops are cracked that is likely is issue. The LCA usually pulls hard under breaking when it's shot. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. I have some bad road in my daily commute, i'd buy stronger ones if available. You can use the KYBs. An upgrade would be to use the SpecB ones coupled with the conical washer from your original setup and an additional washer below the conical washer to raise it up. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts.
