So I figured I would finally start a thread. This isn't going to be some big build thread or anything fancy. Im just looking for a nice/fun daily driver that I can manage this awful DMV traffic with. I'm a huge subaru enthusiast and have only owned subaru's since after my first car. Back in December, 2014 I traded in my 06 sti with 53k miles for a stock 2005 garnet red pearl legacy gt limited 5eat with 61k miles. I traded the Sti to pocket some money and lower my payments to assist with purchasing a house in the near future. I originally planned to keep this car stock but of course that didn't happen. Onto the thread. By the way sorry for all the pics in my first post but just trying to catch up on its current state.

Before my 30 day warranty was up I decided to have my local subie shop(IAG Performance) do an inspection that included a compression test and banjo bolt replacement. The results were to my liking. (Dec 16th 2014)

Next up I had IAG mount some 17x8 +44 Rota Grids in hyper silver to the Conti extreme contact dws tires that were on the vehicle when I bought it. (Jan 26th, 2015)

After missing the power from my stage 2 Sti I decided I had to get some more power from the legacy. So I had an Invidia dw catless downpipe and up-pipe installed as well as flashing the ecu with a cobb ots stage 2 93octane map. The difference was like night and day as most of you know. I was very pleased with the results even though I'm still not thrilled about the 5eat. (March 2nd 2015)

Went to boxerfest for the second year in a row. Bought a hella supertone/harness/mounting bracket kit from Subimods. Went with silver for now to somewhat match the wheels. If I don't like the look I'll just paint them red or black. Oh and enjoyed watching BarManBean and some other subaru's rip up the auto-x track. (April 25th 2015)

Been missing the boxer rumble and after going to Boxerfest I realized I just can't do without. Did some searching on an exhaust that is pretty quiet during normal driving but had a nice rumble when pushing on it. So I purchased a borla exhaust from a member on here. (May 9th, 2015)

Was bored this past weekend and decided to plasti dip my oem grille until I get my r-rev one painted. Turned out pretty good imo. Also installed my IAG floor mat bracket finally. Best minute mod ever! (May 17th, 2015)

Just dropped my car at IAG for an oil change and to have my r-rev grille painted. I did a test fit this morning and the mounting points were lined up perfectly. Hood closed with no problem, only issue to me was that the bottom of the grille didn't, "hook" on like the stock grille did. Other than that it looks pretty damn good to me. It most certainly does NOT have the sag issue like i've seen on some grilles.

Thanks man, I've always liked the blacked out look but trying to stay away from doing too much black on this car. Although I still have a set of oem headlights(painted black) and tint film for the turn signals/tails to put on.

Appreciate it, and yea I miss the sti really bad. I didn't HAVE to get rid of it but thought it was the smart thing to do. I'm really regretting it although luckily the lgt has been keeping me very happy.

June 10th: Picked up my r-rev grille from being painted by IAG and installed it. Im very happy with the paint job. As far as fitment with the grille, I believe it could be better. My only issue is how the bottom of the grille doesn't hook to the bumper. Because of that it appears to have a small gap.

Im with you and originally was going to do that first to see if I liked it. But since I painted right away I wouldn't do it now. After getting it painted I want to show it otherwise it was a waste of $200.

This past weekend I finally got around to throwing on my sti front strut bar. Unfortunately with good came bad. I broke one stud on each side. I used a torque wrench and had it set to 14lbs but still managed to break them. I'm probably just going to have the broken studs punched out and replaced but I may just lower the car now instead of waiting until next spring. Here's some pics. Sorry for the bad quality.

You should of saw my face when it happened. I was like but then I read that it's happen to a good amount of people so I don't feel as dumb. Plus it is a 10 year old car and I'm sure that stud has seen some stress. As for lowering it I don't have an exact drop height in mind but I'm thinking somewhere around 1"-1&1/2". I'm probably going to get some bc br's so ill play with the height. I definitely don't want to have issues over speed bumps, I'm not big on the slammed look either...for my car.

Well I finally made up my mind and had decided to get fortune auto 500's with swift springs and upgraded bearing mounts. But then a set of koni's with the front's already inserted into oem struts, hr springs and whiteline com c tophats popped up in the classified's. It was basically $1k less than I was about to spend so I said screw it and bought the koni set up so now I can put the money into other mods! Hopefully get all my suspension parts on within the next month.

My koni set up was finally delivered the other day. Just cleaned them up a bit and took some quick shots. By the way they came with saggy butt spacers. Anyone think I should run them on my sedan? I've seen some do and some don't.

Glad to see you got them and are happy with them! I would run the saggy butt spacers. Also I thought they were 3/8 spacers but they are actually 1/4" so they will give your sedan a nice level ride even if you put some luggage or other items in the trunk.

^ Yea I can't wait to get them on. And I decided I'm going to use the spacers. Since they are only 1/4". Also since I do notice my leggy's saggy ass on stock suspension like you said it should level it out.
