07wrxstage2
So I figured I would finally start a thread. This isn't going to be some big build thread or anything fancy. Im just looking for a nice/fun daily driver that I can manage this awful DMV traffic with. I'm a huge subaru enthusiast and have only owned subaru's since after my first car. Back in December, 2014 I traded in my 06 sti with 53k miles for a stock 2005 garnet red pearl legacy gt limited 5eat with 61k miles. I traded the Sti to pocket some money and lower my payments to assist with purchasing a house in the near future. I originally planned to keep this car stock but of course that didn't happen. Onto the thread. By the way sorry for all the pics in my first post but just trying to catch up on its current state. The results were to my liking. So I had an Invidia dw catless downpipe and up-pipe installed as well as flashing the ecu with a cobb ots stage 2 93octane map. The difference was like night and day as most of you know. I was very pleased with the results even though I'm still not thrilled about the 5eat. (March 2nd 2015) No pics so i'll just post this. (unfortunately I got a flat tire right before pulling into the shop but luckily they were able to patch it for now) http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/0B47DED2-BAA4-4460-9568-FB834F4872AC.png_zpsvms2hx5h.jpeg Went to boxerfest for the second year in a row. Bought a hella supertone/harness/mounting bracket kit from Subimods. Went with silver for now to somewhat match the wheels. If I don't like the look I'll just paint them red or black. Oh and enjoyed watching BarManBean and some other subaru's rip up the auto-x track. 07wrxstage2
Ordered the r-rev grille and received it in 2 days! Can't wait to get it painted! Did some searching on an exhaust that is pretty quiet during normal driving but had a nice rumble when pushing on it. So I purchased a borla exhaust from a member on here. 07wrxstage2
Just dropped my car at IAG for an oil change and to have my r-rev grille painted. I did a test fit this morning and the mounting points were lined up perfectly. Hood closed with no problem, only issue to me was that the bottom of the grille didn't, "hook" on like the stock grille did. Other than that it looks pretty damn good to me. It most certainly does NOT have the sag issue like i've seen on some grilles. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/BB2DC7DC-1362-46C1-A587-EE432A89FD33_zpsfmwlbb5a.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/4A10A664-A9C3-4F43-8308-A160336FF38B_zpsqecsxiu9.jpg Alex D. Thanks man, I've always liked the blacked out look but trying to stay away from doing too much black on this car. Although I still have a set of oem headlights(painted black) and tint film for the turn signals/tails to put on. looks good! (that STI looks good too lol) Appreciate it, and yea I miss the sti really bad. I didn't HAVE to get rid of it but thought it was the smart thing to do. I'm really regretting it although luckily the lgt has been keeping me very happy. Alex D. JDM Prestige Motors alex@jdmprestigemotors.com

07wrxstage2
You are making me want a set of Grids..... Lol, well if that want becomes a need be sure you hit up aaron at aspec wheels. His email is Aaron@aspecwheels.net . I've bought my last 2 sets of rota's from them and he will most certainly get you a better deal than anywhere else or than whats listed on their site. Alex D. 07wrxstage2
June 10th: Picked up my r-rev grille from being painted by IAG and installed it. Im very happy with the paint job. As far as fitment with the grille, I believe it could be better. My only issue is how the bottom of the grille doesn't hook to the bumper. Because of that it appears to have a small gap. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/B87EB501-FA90-433C-A99F-E783E4224FE8_zpsanzecmvh.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/A33E65EF-B22B-4A48-9E1C-FCC67647F974_zps9f0qeaup.jpg Oem vs r-rev: http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/91C2844B-1473-4FDE-801C-470C8DA3B913_zpsmuytbogz.jpg Before: http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/227B9084-9122-4830-B970-8A50CC034580_zpshw7a6ohv.jpg After: http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/1C0708AA-1F19-45E4-87AC-15F0F29BBDC6_zpsfizclmp8.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/D941B800-A1F7-4778-9943-F8FB18972865_zps4lymdo2w.jpg The small gap I was talking about: http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/5D2C0B45-798A-4E14-B10B-4E6EFB7793A2_zpsxghcjmws.jpg Alex D. Streetlegal
Mine has a very similar gap in the front. I really like that color match! Have you considered matching the lip too? I did my grille flat black to match my lip. Nice silver horns too (bracket is black now) Thanks and yea I do see the same gap issue on yours. It's not huge and people dont really notice unless they are down on grille level but still, you'd think someone would have perfected the grille by now. Plus in any thread for the r-rev grille I never saw anyone mention it. Also I have thought about color matching my front lip but decided against it for two reasons. One ill be lowered eventually and im sure it will get scraped up a bit and the paint whill chip. Second I plan on getting the Damd side lip and rear lip so I want the lips all to match. I am with you though on it looking better to match the grille and front lip. Which is why I sadly say that I think my front end looked better with the oem grille(dipped black) matching with the front lip. Alex D. If you like it then leave it on and if you don't then peel the dip off. I like that grill better regardless of color.

I like that grill better regardless of color. Im with you and originally was going to do that first to see if I liked it. But since I painted right away I wouldn't do it now. After getting it painted I want to show it otherwise it was a waste of $200. 07wrxstage2
This past weekend I finally got around to throwing on my sti front strut bar. Unfortunately with good came bad. I broke one stud on each side. I used a torque wrench and had it set to 14lbs but still managed to break them. I'm probably just going to have the broken studs punched out and replaced but I may just lower the car now instead of waiting until next spring. Here's some pics. Sorry for the bad quality. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/1014CDA2-9B10-4EB5-AA9A-512CB7344D69_zpsijxp7m9f.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/4C66307C-F172-4723-9263-1D6612808DA8_zpsk9fe9lzt.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/475EE89C-08F0-49D9-AD2D-1DFAB9A311B0_zpsbbl2rwtl.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/wrxsti4life/1DB14A24-AF5F-41BF-ADAB-FB1404531471_zpsu40pgzpm.jpg Alex D. You should of saw my face when it happened. I was like but then I read that it's happen to a good amount of people so I don't feel as dumb. Plus it is a 10 year old car and I'm sure that stud has seen some stress. As for lowering it I don't have an exact drop height in mind but I'm thinking somewhere around 1"-1&1/2". I'm probably going to get some bc br's so ill play with the height. I definitely don't want to have issues over speed bumps, I'm not big on the slammed look either...for my car. Alex D. 07wrxstage2
Well I finally made up my mind and had decided to get fortune auto 500's with swift springs and upgraded bearing mounts. But then a set of koni's with the front's already inserted into oem struts, hr springs and whiteline com c tophats popped up in the classified's. It was basically $1k less than I was about to spend so I said screw it and bought the koni set up so now I can put the money into other mods! Hopefully get all my suspension parts on within the next month. Alex D. JDM Prestige Motors alex@jdmprestigemotors.com
07wrxstage2
My koni set up was finally delivered the other day. Just cleaned them up a bit and took some quick shots. magnusonsubie
Glad to see you got them and are happy with them! I would run the saggy butt spacers. Also I thought they were 3/8 spacers but they are actually 1/4" so they will give your sedan a nice level ride even if you put some luggage or other items in the trunk. 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
07wrxstage2
^ Yea I can't wait to get them on. And I decided I'm going to use the spacers. Since they are only 1/4". Also since I do notice my leggy's saggy ass on stock suspension like you said it should level it out. Alex D.
