realrift
Hi all, Does anyone know if there is a brake master cylinder brace available for the 2010+ LGT. Or even better, a front strut tower brace with a built in master cylinder brace? Cheers, Rift.
sschmelcke
I have been waiting for Grimmspeed to make one but there doesnt seem to be much interest. My friend with his 2009 loves it
Gborja888
Actually I have one installed made by Cusco. Got it for about USD70 two years ago. I can probably get a better picture of it in the car over the weekend. http://taitian168.cn.china.cn/op/ImageDetail/id/2115279676/type/4/index.htm
sschmelcke
Not sure if that will work on a USDM car. We would have to ask cusco
Gborja888
The best is to take pictures of it in the car. I will take some pictures over the weekend. We could also take some measurements if you're interested.

SurlyOldManMN
I have been waiting for Grimmspeed to make one but there doesnt seem to be much interest. My friend with his 2009 loves it There is an issue with lack of mounting points used by the brace for other models. A significant redesign would be necessary to avoid requiring drilling. That's probably opportunity-cost prohibitive. Maybe a smaller scale fabricator could be engaged if the JDM version turns out to be different? RacerX? Rutchard
Well, isn't China left hand drive like the US? If so I'd think the master cylinder would be on the same side as the USDM models. We'll be able to tell more when we see pictures.

We'll be able to tell more when we see pictures. You are right. China is LHD like US. So the master cylinder is on the same side. The install was easy. It took only about 15-20 minutes to install. No drilling of hole is required. I will take some pictures over the weekend so you could see.

Gborja888
sschemelcke, here's some of the pictures I took. Based on the pictures you took, it seems USDM and JDM are the same to me. There are four bolting/install point for this brace kit to the side as shown below: Here's another angle: The distance from the side to middle of brake master cylinder is about 8.5-9cm More angles: It's about 10cm from the black circular (I don't know how it's called) to the end. realrift
Ok, so what exactly does this do? Apparently stops the firewall flexing when you press the brake pedal. It is supposed to give better brake pedal feeling.
realrift
Is there a version for right hand drive cars? The brake master cylinder is on the right.
Gborja888
Is there a version for right hand drive cars? The brake master cylinder is on the right. I think they should. Cusco is a Japanese company so I'm pretty sure they sell this in Japan for RHD car.

ehsnils
If you add a bracket I would suggest to add some steel-spun brake hoses too for an even stiffer brake pedal.
