ConticContact DWS 225/40R18 or 225/45R18 ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I have a 06 spec B . I believe my wheel size is 18x7.5.( correct me if I'm wrong) but I am in the market for new tires. But I cannot decide which size to go for. Please give me your input on which size you think is better for me. Comfort is key for me since I take my car to road trips and I daily it as well. Would I have any issues fitting the 225/45? Any rubbing issues? Is the ride quality reall bad for the smaller 225/40? Would I even notice the difference between the two? If you have any pictures of the 225/45 please post them.

There is nearly a 1" height difference between the 2 sizes. I just put 225/45/18 Michelins on my 3.0R and they have no rubbing issues.

Not a close up, but you get the idea.

Hi I changed out some cheap 225-40/18 for some Michelin 225-45/18. They ride better grip well and the speedo is now accurate but don't know about the odo. The bigger tyres look much better too and don't foul the bodywork.
