IIRC, Robin, you won't have any choice on front tire size. Rear tire width usually depends on HP. When I ran a class called Yamaha Sportsman (13 bhp), we ran narrower rear tires. When I went to the Yamaha pipe class (22 bhp), I ran the wide rear tires. Fronts stayed the same width in all classes, but I rans slower dedicated kart tracks rather than full road courses. I don't know what roadrace kart tires are available.

If you're worried about understeer due to narrow front tires, don't. Once you have your seat set-up according to your comfort and weight distribution, you will primarily change your kart's handling by varying the front or rear track or ride height. You also have three rear bearing for the rear axle. You might also unbolt and zip tie the inner bearing to allow the axle to flex more thereby altering rear grip. Or you'll go to a softer or harder rear axle to alter rear grip.

Just asking for a little advice here. On the current Kart, I have 5x5.5s on the front and 5x10.5s on the rear in terms of tires Now, since most autoxs, are in effect, what used to be called gymkhana's, what it your opinion regarding front tires , where the corners are so tight???
