  1. I actually have a light issue on the dash too, but it's normal for the low beams/parking lights. When I turn on my HID fog lights the high beam indicator light turns on. This also happens appropriately when I turn on my high beams, but it can be a little annoying with the glaring high beam indicator light on when it's only my low beams and fogs on. As long as they all work I'm ok with a little weirdness on the dash.
  2. Before my DRL's were disconnected my HID's were a nightmare... Flickering for 30 seconds when I turned them off and would only ignite with the ignition. So if I left the house without turning them on and it got dark or it started to rain.. no lights. I disabled the DRL's July '11 with 55w HID's working like a charm ever since. Also I have 35w HID fog's and 35w high beams. All working well without issue. Amazing difference driving, especially in crappy conditions. However, It took me trial and error with several shops to get all the lights installed properly. Labor for the fog lights cost me a pretty penny. But with everything working smoothly for over 6 months I feel it was worth it. I bought some back up lights too per the mechanic's suggestion that they wouldn't last very long, but I commute approximately 2 hours/day (total) and use my lights on the way home every night. So this leads me to my next question - why does Subaru not offer factory HID's? For being such a green company and earthy reputation you'd think the energy efficiency provided by HID's would prompt the change. I think the new BRZ will actually make HID's standard
  3. Awesome you the man! That looks a little gnarly to do, but I'll give it shot after this weekend since Irene is gonna be a crazy time for us East Coasters!
  4. Incredibly frustrating.. no one here is promoting not wearing a seat belt. It's for the times when you're sitting in your car and not driving, or backing it down the drivewar for a second, etc... Let's be constructive and not throw unwarranted self righteous comments out there. On to the real issue.. I tried the seat belt clicky thing it worked for 2 days then blam right back on. I tried the taking apart the buckle, and I too could not get the seat belt to click in until I forced it, which of course undid the slider. I will do the under the seat disconnect and report back if I have any issue.. Now we've got to find a good system to disable that passenger side!
  5. Well my driver side low beam is just off. About 1 week it worked. I have no idea what happend. I'm guessing the bulb burned out but I just got these lights. Fogs and passenger low beam are just fine. Any suggestions are welcome!!!
  6. Wow that was a much bigger pain in the ass..back...head..and especially fingers than expected! The pliers on the sure bundle combined with flat head pushing in on plastic lock tab is key. It worked incredibly though. I have 55w HIDs that were flickering while I was driving even with the lights off thanks to DRL. Then at night after having the lights on there would be a period of 20 seconds or so of flashing when I turned them off. This highly embarrassing and unacceptable flickering has ceased since this little trick. Also I couldn't turn the lights on unless they were in the "on" position prior to ignition. So if they started off and I drove til dark I would have to pull over and turn the car off ...absurd!!! Now its amazing.. much easier mod than trying to add a relay harness to ballasts buried deep in the engine.
