  1. Dude... no doubt that the driver's side rear was a real PITA. I beat my hands to hamburger trying to get it all back in and then had a realization. It took about 10 mins to take off the bottom plastic pieces and loosen the LH engine mount. 30 seconds later I had it jacked up a few inches and HOLY COW it went in like butter. I highly recommend that when you do this install that you considers just loosening those darn engine mounts and jack it up a few inches. 10 minutes of extra work up front will save you 45 mins in the long-run. I'm just saying...makes all the difference in the world!
  2. I didn't know either, at first. I did a search on here and saw a pic of them on the car, but not of the difference in their effect. I think the cutoff is quite nice, the light output is great, and no adjustment was needed.
  3. Well, so both bulbs were burnt out. Maybe one going caused a voltage spike that killed the other simultaneously? Weird. Anyway, instead of $80 for nice new bulbs, I spent $100 and got a 5000K HID kit instead. Love the new light. Now I wonder, is it really worth the hassle to block out the "squirrel finders"? Seems like a lot of hassle for what already seems fine to me.
  4. 39kkk miles and both low-beams die at the same time. all else is well, including fuses and relays. Hard to believe both bulbs burnt out. What wiring harnesses should I start looking into?
  5. ^ Found it.... http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=312940&postcount=19
  6. I've seen it on here. Check for threads in satellite radio install, as I know there's a walkthru there b/c the spiler needs to come off for that, too. It's easy, I've done it.
  7. sounds like an idea to me, the problem, of course, in convincing people that they need the GLI... I mean most guys are going to buy it without thinking they might not need it in order to save $$$ up front. Then they'll run to Radio Shack for what they need and in the mean time you've already bought a bunch ahead of time that you can't get rid of! You might want to stress the need for a GLI in the FAQ.
  8. All i know is that some of these cables come of easy, and others only with quite a bit of work. Most (if not all?) have a "tab" that must be pressed to release them, some times you have to press some tabs much more than others. EDIT: --I just noticed that you dont have auto climate control on your car, so that might be the reason that few people recognize your blue cable, cuz most of us have the auto HVAC system. -- Jazzy, will the mod even work on thr 1CD HU?
  9. Yes, I did it and it works just fine. 1) Make sure that the iPod is not connected when the XM unit is or it'll draw-down the volume and add a "flat" acoustic feel. 2) Only play one source at a time, cuz they both will play simultaneously if you let them. 3) Look into sik.com, find an iPod connection that pulls audio out of the bottom (better quality, and constant volume level), this will allow you to charge the iPod at the same time! 4) More sources increases the likelyhood of Ground-Loop noise... save the hassle and put on in ahead of time (consider it a cheap insurance policy at $14) Mike pm with any questions!
  10. I chopped the one that came with the unit -- it's lower profile and *just* fits. If you aren't too comfortable, practice on another wire... but inside it's all the same red/white(or black) and a common ground wrap. Mike
  11. I like my Eminem on iPod...or some ambient tunes. All I listen to anymore is the Ch104 Raw Dog commedy channel on Sirius tho.... I live for it on my drives to and from the office.
  12. Since I put in ym Jazzy mod it's all i've used! Today I decided to try good ol' FM radio on the way to work -- gotta get me weekly dose of Lex and Terry. Anyway, I lef the Sirius unit on thinking it would only play thru if CD was selcted.... WRONG! I thought it was impossible to get the Audio to bleed into the FM... but it was there, on all the channels, and I had the FM broadcast mode off on the Sirius unit. As soon as I turned it off... nothing but the normal FM stuff... wierd.
  13. Look into the SiK iPod car charger, it's the bomb too. Also, get the GLI.... I think it should be a standard recomendation now... for $16 at the Radioshack it's good "insurance" against ground noise and subsequeint uninstall/reinstall.
