  1. Shop said no mechanical issues. Went to Stage 1 for 93 octane...all stock equipment. Driving about 80 - 85 down the highway and now have a new CEL code: P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) Cleared CEL and went back to Stage 0...driving about 45 mph and the same CEL - P0420 came back and has been on for about 10 engine restarts. Any ideas? I'm calling the shop and Cobb support tomorrow.
  2. Cobb AP installed and flashed to Stage 0. Haven't been able to "break" the car yet to produce any CEL's. I'll be flashing to Stage 1 this weekend and see if my luck holds up. I have, however, felt some "slippage" or "hesitation" in the higher gears, but to be honest I'm not sure if its mechanical or because my car has never "been right" since I've bought it due to the overboost issues. Could this be turbo lag? Pls excuse my lack of knowledge. Any/all feedback is welcome. Tks.
  3. Fahr_side you we're right. I had a crappy tune and didn't know it as I bought the car used. SOA got involved and the local dealership sent SOA a bunch of diagnostics. They found that my car was tuned to produce 18 lbs of boost over the stock which they said is 14 lbs. So, basically, the wastegate was doing it's job and shutting things down, throwing CEL codes, and other dashboard lights as it was detecting more boost than expected. I saw a couple other threads for this same P0244 CEL issue and buying used LGT's. The dealership said they could replace my ECU and reprogram it back to stock for $900. I'm going to check with some tuning shops around Atlanta and get a 2nd opinion versus going back to stock. I have 54k miles on my SpecB so this might be the "excuse" I finally need to go ahead with some mods from a reputable shop. Anyone see anything wrong with my optional approach to 'fix' the car?
  4. Haight 05LGT.....I was able to see what you were talking about and the three hoses coming off the "T" are all connected. However, only 2 of the three hoses have clamps on them. The "down" hose is not clamped. Should it be? It is connected though. Also, my "T" is white but perhaps that is because the dealership has replaced the turbo and wastegate in the last month.
  5. I called SOA and did get a case number. I have an appt next Wed to take the car back to the dealership. Is it possible that for either "Max Capacity" or "Haight 05LGT" could post a picture to this thread of the spot where you think that hose may have popped off? I admit, I'm not sure what I'm looking for.
  6. Unfortunately, the CEL P0244 is back again. Same symptoms. Driving in Sport#, running through the gears, hit about 80mph in 5th gear and then the CEL and other lights on the dash lit up. Turned the car on/off a few times over the course of the next 24 hours and the CEL cleared. Tested again and same failure. Autozone pulled the CEL and gave me a print out. At this point I feel like my options are: 1) Take back to the dealership again. (Been to 2 dealerships for this same issue.) 2) Call Subaru of America to get their opinion. 3) "Fix it" and sell it. Frustrated.....
  7. Turbo wastegate solenoid was bad, replaced and all good now. I went out and stomped on it in Sport# (Si-drive) and was able to get teh RPM's up higher than 4,500 without getting a Christmas Tree dashboard and CEL. Car pulled great all the way through 6th gear. I blew by some 3 series BMW in the process and I know that guy was like, "what was that blur!?!!?". haha. On a side note, I found out that the solenoid is not covered by the powertrain warranty, however, as the dealership replaced the Turbo a few weeks prior they worked it out so indicating that the turbo malfunction caused the wastegate solenoid malfunciton. Yah, buddy!
  8. Thanks for the feedback. The car has been in the shop over the weekend but I did mention these latest items to the service manager today. The car should be ready for pick up tomorrow. I'll let you all know how things pan out.
  9. Been running into this same exact issue as well (P0244 CEL). Stock 08 LGT Spec.B. One month ago they replaced the turbo. A week later the same CEL code came up. If I drive in Sport or Sport# and switch gears at 4,500 RPM (which isn't aggressive) the CEL pops every time. I'm under the 60K powertrain warranty so no money out of pocket. They are replacing the Wastegate Selenoid which they found was actually replaced by another dealer 2 years ago just prior to me buying the car. Seems like this has been a problem for a while. I'll mention the tips to the dealer on reflashing the ROM and checking for stock tune maps. Not sure I want to continue to mess with this outside of the warranty when that expires. Disappointed a bit with this whole experience. Any other suggestions/thoughts?
