  1. Put a Subie turbo engine in there and it would be a whole lot of fun!
  2. Hmm, "I don't like Subaru anymore, I dream about Tesla" posted in the e-boxer thread. Tossing out Subaru EV cuz they're going EV like Tesla? Everybody's doing it. It's the thing to do. Tesla has some stiff competition coming up quickly.
  3. That looks like a Toronado - front wheel drive
  4. I was always taught to lift the seat...
  5. I'd like to see how a BRAT would do in the same conditions. Hmm, time to search youtube...
  6. At least the seatbelt is still in there.
  7. Oh, sorry about that. Here, have a pic of the curve (just ignore that curved rope): http://3c1703fe8d.site.internapcdn.net/newman/gfx/news/hires/2017/studentsfilm.jpg
  8. That seems to match modern pictures: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/jFViybVypu8/maxresdefault.jpg
  9. If you guys like the speedster, here's one that right up your alley: Subaru-powered 356 replica: https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/classic-cars/videos/a31692/this-subaru-powered-porsche-356-speedster-replica-almost-looks-real/
  10. Probably because people wanting to step up from a WRX have to go to another brand. I really liked my '05 Legacy GT, but after 2012 I had nothing to replace it. That's why I went with a Kia Cadenza. Aside from the WRX & STI, Subaru just does not prioritize performance. I think the H6-equipped models didn't sell well because they were never performance-focused, so performance-focused drivers went elsewhere. When the Legacy 3.0R came out, it was never really 'R' material. It was hardly even 'S' material. The Legacy GT had the performance edge with a smaller engine. When the 3.6 came out, people were saying it would be easily capable of 300+ hp, but Subaru never changed from the 250 hp that was already available in the 3.0. Sure we got more torque, but hp sells, not torque. I can understand Outback buyers not caring much (though there was interest when those Outback STI pics surfaced), but Legacy owners cared more. My Cadenza makes a pretty good successor to my Legacy GT, and it's not really supposed to be a sporty car. It has 293 hp & 255 ft-lbs of torque with 6-spd auto w/ manual mode. Handling is crisp for a semi-luxury car. Sure, I wish it had a real manual like my Legacy GT, but it's pretty good for what it is. I might move to a Stinger next. I think that's the real successor to the lost Legacy performance line.
  11. I think it was a mistake for Subaru to discontinue their H6. Sure, the 2.4 is great for Ascent, but some people just gotta have a 6, especially for top-tier models.
  12. Nah, that hose is way too long. You'd have to have really deep breaths to get the CO2 all the way to the plant and bring the O2 back, unless you had a recirculation pump. (or two hoses and a one-way valve)
  13. Need bigger front wheels, and maybe more weight in the rear, shift the driving position over the front axle, then maybe it would be safer.
  14. I bet that was an expensive repair, and an expensive lesson to check doors before entering garage. But by the looks of the 3-car garage and the car on the lift, he can afford it.
