  1. I guess this means we can no longer hide our association. The FBI will be contacting you shortly.
  2. The biggest problem with the screen in the BBs is that they are not referenced in the owners manual. SOA has acknowledged there is a design issue that can cause component failure if they become occluded. And worst of all, SOA has yet to officially notify any owners of this problem. The only official document is the TSB released this past fall. How many owners will get shafted on major repairs (AVCS or turbo failure) because they don't know? I would think a letter sent to all affected vehicle owners advising them to have these checked, and the potential problems would have been a good effort at customer satisfaction.
  3. thanks for the pics and details on the clutch fork spring. Nicely covered. Again proving this is one of the more 'user' friendly car forums available. More help, less BS.
  4. I would like to see pics of your bracket and spring fix. Maybe even a How-to thread. Thanks for the write up though.
  5. Don't believe the backorder story. My dealer told me it was backordered, it was reported here they were backordered. New ECM arrived at dealer 3 days later (with their normal ordering process). Now as I said, 2 emails and a phone call to SOA later.... I basically blamed SOA for promising owners a 24 hour turn around, but the details of the Bulletin state to order the ECM VOR - which is not Overnight - but put it in the letter to owners it would be overnight. SOA is dropping the ball here more than the local dealers IMHO.
  6. emailed SOA with complaint over them dropping the ball. Dealer called and will have ecm on thursday this week.
  7. heard there were issues with some of the WB in the early models. Mine seem ok so far.
  8. please clarify a question. If the ECM is toast, do both fans run all of the time or just the driver's side fan? My drivers side runs all of the time, but the passenger only runs under loads(e.g. a/c on). trying to clarify the issue. thanks.
  9. well I unmarried this AM before going to the dealer because I had already tested the ECM (on a 34 degree morning so the fan shouldn't have come on when I started the car). Stock tuning is so slow compared to performance. Can't wait for new parts and more power!
  10. Well went to dealer. Had relay replaced after warning the dealer that I had already checked the cooling fan and it does run all the time. Tech. swapped the relay and said the ECM is OK.....dumbasspartschanger! Get home. Cool car off. check fan...still running! Called dealer back. They tell me Subaru cannot overnight the ECM because they are backordered. Any truth to this?
