  1. Yep. My check engine light came back on last nite when I went home and all the symptoms are back. So it wasn't the coil pack. So at this point I'm going to have to take it up the butt and take it to the stealership. $120 just to look at it. Then the dreaded puch to the gut will come afterwards.
  2. I have a 14 Legacy 2.5i and no issues until last week when one of the coil pack went bad. Now one other issue, not sure what's causing it, I'm dealing with. I only have 33k miles on it. Daily driver. I will probably never buy another Subaru again.
  3. So here is the result. Last night I changed out the coil pack. After that was done, the check engine light, brake light and one other symbol went out. I didn't have to clear the code. I looked at the spark plugs on clynder #2 and #4. they are dark at the top close to the tip. but still not too bad for the 33K miles. So they got put back in with the new coil pack in number 4. When I cranked it over the car was running fine. I was talking to the mechanic and we left the car running for about 10-15min. So I went home no issues. BUT when I parked the car I rolled down the window ad all of the sudden the rough idle came back but no check engine light. The engine would be fine and then it sounds like a back pressure problem. Hard to describe. Kinda like it was struggling for air and it was choking. So it would so smooth then poof, smooth the poof and it would repeat and repeat. So I'm not sure what the issue is here. Now the air filter got changed to a ew one thinking it was that. Nope. Now this problem still was happening when the coil pack issue was going on. I thought that the coil pack issue was causing this rough idle issue but so far it's the only thing left.
  4. The coil pack sits o top of the spark plug. The hardest part is getting to it especially #4. Not enough space and the connectors ca be tricky depending on the age and how brittle it is. Have to be very careful.
  5. So after reading the entire thread I ran into the same problem like most of the people here. Last week, during spring break the car started to lose power at low rpm, jerk a bit while driving at low speed, rough idle, but no check engine light. This last weekend the check engine light finally came on. My Legacy is a 2014 2.5i with less than 35k miles. I went to Autozone to get the scan done and they determined it was the coil pack. But to be 100% sure I went to two other places. The other two places said it is throwing a P0304 code but can't determine what the cause would be. But Autozone said it was the coil pack. Now I tired to see if this is something I could do but space is so limited I have no idea how anyone can do it. Unless the lift the engine up about 1 inch or so it's very difficult. The other thing was I was nervous trying to get the coil pack connector off. Not very easy to do with so much crap in the way. If anyone here have any tips or tricks to do this o cylinder 4 that would be much appreciated. One dealership quoted me 380 to do 1 and the other dealership won't even do anything unless they look at it to determine it's the coil pack.
  6. What do you guys think about the 18inch wheels that comes with the Sports Package? I bought a 2014 last nite. I think it's better than the stock 17inch however I know it's going to cost me a arm and a leg to replace the tires when they are shot.
