  1. Enthusiasts don't bring massive profits for car makers. It'll sell fine with a turbo 4 and CVT if the rest of the car is compelling. Joe consumer doesn't seem to mind the CVT in other models because the rest of the car is that compelling. Obviously a CVT in a performance application is a terrible combination but that's not the vehicle in question. The XC90 is flying off the lots with a Chinese made 4 banger because the rest of the car is that awesome. Hell, the base E-class engine is now a turbo 4. It's not nearly as big of a deal anymore.
  2. IMHO a turbo 4 shouldn't be an issue. The way the CX-9 is designed/tuned there's quite a bit of low-end torque which is what you need with heavy vehicles. By comparison it felt quite a bit more peppy than a 9-speed Pilot (we drove both back to back). Wife and I are waiting for this to come out. If it disappoints maybe I'll go back to pushing for a GX460.
  3. You definitely need an external receiver for Sat radio. strife1012, there's no need for the OEM sub harness if you want to ease installation. The easiest thing to do would to be a forward and reverse radio harness and connect them together on a bench, add your taps there and then install into the car as an assembly.
  4. Wow, I guess those yuppies driving around in their Euro cars really are idiots then. I see rear fogs all the time in LA, especially when its not foggy:p
  5. Lots of European cars come with rear fogs. I'm sure you've seen them before. To answer your question, most of the time the rear fog is wired to come on with the front fogs. I think there are some cars that are switched separately but I'd say that's the exception.
  6. The short answer is, the VDC sub won't work with the '07 radio. The "normal" 05-06 sub will work but you'll have to splice a couple wires.
  7. He added his own Aux plug in the stock center console cubby. The '05 sub will work, a bit of re-wiring is all that's required.
  8. Huh, so that means that the '07 sub is different eh? That's too bad....at least for those that already have a sub. I'd venture to guess they went back to the "old" style sub that tapped the main radio harness only.
  9. FYI: Most aftermarket headunits now support both XM and Sirius. Its not terribly far fetched to think that this HU may support both as well.
  10. I have a DeWalt electric that worked fine. Took a minute or two to break the rear lower bolt but it worked.
  11. Weird. I used my DeWalt Electric Impact Gun and it came off without too much trouble.
  12. Yeah, I found this out the hard way. I bought my car in Lancaster (high desert for those who know SoCal). No A/C on the test drive and I guess they never found it when prepping the car for delivery. So I had a nice 50 mile drive home and of course it was hot as hell that day:mad: For the record I didn't want to leave it there for them to fix since I would have had to make another 70 mile (one-way) trip to get it.
