  1. SCHM1AN, I appreciate the offer but I'd like to get some brand new tires.
  2. Anyone have opinions on good all year tires? I've mostly used Potenzas in the past but was thinking of the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Was originally thinking Continental Extreme Winter Contacts for the stock tires and getting summer wheels/tires next spring but got a solid nudge from the wife to possibly wait (trying to start a family). Never had too much trouble with the Potenzas and I've been told I'm a pretty aggressive driver but are the winter tires really worth it around here? Also, took alanztalon's advice and am getting all work needed (suspension upgrads, tires) done by 2 Guys Auto within the next couple of weeks. Seems like a solid place so far.
  3. I like idiot's suggestion and am looking at Konis with the stock springs. Still looking at sway bars. Probably throwing this together next week if everything works out. I'm not driving off road but its pretty close with some of these roads in NW Milwaukee. I blame them for my failing stock front struts (54,000 miles).
  4. Are yours with or without the reverse light cutout? Looks like no cutout.
  5. Aken, where did you get those? I like that look better than what I had been thinking of.
  6. Anyone every hear about someone getting ticketed in WI for lightly tinted tail lights? I've heard the debates about safety so no need to get into that. I don't intend on going very dark, just a light smoke and will be testing it out for night and day visibility to ensure safety. I've also read the laws on it but wanted to see if it is much of a hassle with state patrol.
  7. Read the thread Mini suggested and am now back in limbo. I am trying to go the cheap route but want a smooth ride with added performance. Just don't know if I want to spend the extra cash for now or wait another year as I originally planned and just get stock struts. As far as tires go, I might just grab some all weather tires and splurge on wheels and tires next year.
  8. Newish member here. Good to finally find some WI/Milwaukee area folk on here. For those who were talking about Sommers vs any other area shop, would anyone recommend Schlossman's Subaru City? I've been going to Sommers since Don Jacobs closed its doors and haven't been too happy with their service over the past couple years. Looking at suspension work, tires and, since they now have closed all DOT emissions locations, an emissions test (fun right?). Any other advice for shops would be welcome as well.
  9. New to the forum and tuning and need some advice. Just got my 08 LGT a year ago and wasn't planning on modding it until next summer. Found out 3 days ago I need new front struts since one is leaking and figured, what the hell, good time to start toying. Through my research I'm leaning toward Tein Street Basis coilovers. I've read a lot of forums and not too many mention the full coilovers just the springs (H-/S-tech). Any advice or opinions on these coilovers? Also looking at tires so any advice on upgraded daily driver tires would be welcome as well.
