  1. How do they ride? I want to improve the car's handling, but not get it too harsh. I'm still debating on struts - KYB vs. Koni vs. Bilstein, as well. So many decisions.
  2. Finding springs nowadays is an exercise in frustration, I'm finding. I thought the eibachs would have been perfect, but they don't exist. Can't find the Epics, either. H&R and Tein seem to drop too low for me. /sigh
  3. That looks awesome. To clarify - do you have them wired as your DRLs instead of the stock lowbeams, then? Along with the sidemarkers?
  4. Ok, I'll add the compression/leakdown test to the list. I am happy with the performance, but that doesn't mean I would argue if I could pull a little harder to redline (the rare time I run it that hard) if it didn't cost too much more in the way of reliability. Like if I'm going to get an e-tune anyways, and if it's not much more than the rebuilt turbo.
  5. So if I want to really be somewhat overcautious and try to make my car last as long as possible, is this list a good starting point? My car has 144k miles on it, is stock (with Stage 1 AP tune), has the original turbo. This list comes from reading this and other threads that identify some of the causes of turbo/engine failures. I've done TB/WP already. 3k OCI w/ good oil (Rotella T6 is what I use) Clean/Remove banjo filter screens Clean/replace OCVs Replace oil line with the Infamous one Use the larger Mazda oil filter Get off the stock tune (done, but is a custom e-tune better?) Should I go as far as replacing the turbo now since it has so many miles on it? I'm very content with the performance of the car now. If I do replace it, would I be better off getting a rebuilt VF40 or getting a VF52 or BNR16g and a nice safe tune? I know I won't see the full potential of those turbos, which I'm fine with, just want something more reliable. I'd love to see this car hit 200k+. I love my car, and want to keep it as long as possible.
  6. I'm planning on replacing all the plugs this weekend anyways, since I have no idea when that was last done. I'll check them then, and do the oil change at the same time. Car seems to run really well, and I'd like it to stay that way.
  7. Since the dealer did the oil change before I bought it, I figure I'll change it around now and be good (I've put about 1000 miles on the car). Next stop is an accessport, but I want to make sure all is well before that.
  8. So are you saying DO the engine flush, then follow the procedure above? Sorry, just being paranoid. And is this thread a good reference for the banjo bolt you're referring to? http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/2-5gt-turbo-oil-supply-banjo-bolt-filter-removal-61689.html
  9. LOL, talk about information overload. Not sure it "cleared it up" for me. I'll probably try the Rotella T6, since that seems to have a positive consensus, but my big question is whether or not to use an engine flush before I change it - scary stuff about particulates clogging the screen and causing engine failure? I bought this car at 100k. Seems to have been well taken care of, but...
