  1. Reading all the posts here and in the Outback forum has gotten me a bit worried about my CVT. Just yesterday I experienced an extreme dip in RPMs while waiting at a light. I've experienced dips before, but this time it felt like the engine nearly stalled as if I dropped the clutch in a manual. It did recover however, but this is unnervingly similar to what others have experienced. I sent an email to Subaru Canada about this warranty extension and this is what they sent back: Dear MasterPeon: Thank you for taking the time to contact Subaru Canada Inc. There is no program of this nature in Canada at this time. However, if something is released and it is applicable to your vehicle you will receive a notification via first class mail. Best Regards, Rachel | Assistant Manager, Customer Loyalty, Subaru Canada, Inc. | 560 Suffolk Crt., Mississauga, Ontario L5R 4J7 http://www.subaru.ca So basically, Canadians don't get this. Lucky Americans!
  2. Mine is noticeably quieter when starting off cold. Near the end of my trip is when I hear the noise consistently. As for the heat shields, any idea where the prime suspect might be? I might try to put a hose clamp in there on the weekend.
  3. Do any of your CVTs have a grumbly rattle/sputter noise anywhere between 1100-1500 rpm? I usually hear this as I'm just accelerating lightly from low speed coast. I have a suspicion it's heat shield related. Any thoughts?
  4. Piaa Sporzas. With the included adapter, they would have some lateral play. The lower end of the driver side wiper especially would wobble and produce windshield chatter and clicking when the wiper changed direction. After the switch, both wipers are very solid and most importantly, silent. I just regret not thinking of doing this years ago
  5. For any of you who use aftermarket wipers, I just found out that if you swap out the plastic J hook connector from stock wipers and snap it on to aftermarket wipers, they seat A LOT better and don't wiggle around the hinge. This reduced my wiper chatter to near zero.
  6. Trying out hogzaust on my cvt. Initially I used 2 washers. The sound on engine start and stop was awesome. Cruising on the highway and minor speed adjustments weren't that great. After, I went to 1 washer. The throaty start up / shutdown and idle is still very much there and the fixed rpm drone halved. I'll keep it on for the rest of the week to see how much I like it on my daily commute. A lower fuel efficiency was a side effect even though I tried my best to drive normally. Oh well, gas is cheap this week so it all balances out haha
  7. Does anybody know how to switch the fuel eco readout units from mpg --> l/100km --> km/l? All the units seem to be available on the screen. I have l/100km and I'd like for it to read l/km. I hope it's as easy as down, forward, punch.
