  1. Ya I was thinking the same thing about #2 as well. 10 psi delta isnt very cool. That also happens to be the same cylinder im getting a misfire on. Looks like it will going to see the doc.
  2. Makes sense to me. One of my buddies was saying the same thing but he is normally the last one to take advice from . Do you think elevation would make enough of a difference to account for my low readings?
  3. Well I performed one final test to verify my findings. This time I made sure the block was as warm as I could get it 120 deg. Topped the oil off and when doing the test cranked the motor a few more times. My findings were Cylinder #1 114, 114, 114. Cylinder #2 104, 104, 104. Cylinder #3 110, 110, 112. Cylinder #4 110, 109, 112. Still alot lower then I was hoping. I cant see how it would make any difference but being up in elevation, could that make a difference? I think I'll be taking her in to the shop to verify my readings:icon_sad:
  4. I was thinking the guage to, so i rented a brand new tester and it basically matched my older one. It could very well be the rings for all I know since I bought it with 45,000 mi on it and it was modfied already. Who knows how it was treated. I think at this point ill have my tuner look at it and worst case I take it in to a shop to verify. Just seems so odd being it still runs like a champ.
  5. Well I ran a compression test on mine this weekend. Although im not sure how accurate it was. It has been awhile since I have done a test and when I did it was on an old 70's v-8 so I imagine its a little different. The tester's instructions indicate that the motor needs to be warmed up and throttle needs to be wide open. Not sure how im supposed to leave the throttle wide open being fly by wire. I just floored it while cranking, i assume that opens the throttle. Also how important is it to have the motor warmed up? Seems kinda tough to do considering how hard it is to get to everything. By the time I get everything ready it would cool down quite a bit. I plugged in my block heater and got coolant temp up to 120 deg, but it only increased pressure 5 psi. I basically was seeing 100- 105 on three cylinders and 98 on cylinder #2 which is the cylinder im mis firing on. Any suggestions or advice would be great!! The difference between cylinders isnt all that bad, but i just cant except that all cylinders are this low. Thanks again for any help.
  6. Be careful of this kind of deal. I have never been to this shop so I cant speak on there quality of work but I have been lured in by deals like these. Same exact deal 5 or 6 years ago at a different shop, what they dont tell you is every seperate peice of glass is considered a window. So on your leggy assuming your getting everything tinted but your front (some people do). Its going to be 7 windows, so I imagine those two extra is where there going to get ya. I took my 78 wagoneer in for that kind of deal and by the time I was out the door it was around 400 bucks. Although I will say it has 11 pieces of glass not including my front. Either way you can call them to verify this. Good luck.
  7. Man all this talk about internal motor issues causing misfires is starting to scare me a bit. Im having issues like alot of you and have been considering a compression test for the hell of it. What would a good pressure range be for these motors? Maybe next weekend ill be borrowing a kit.
  8. Dave, All the e-85 talk is giving me that itch to getting a time set up to knock out the final tune. Ill hit you up tomorrow to figure a time out. Then maybe I can get around to getting a dyno graph, to put with my car on your website;). Looks good!!
  9. Good stuff lol my niece's and nephew love riding in uncle's car. Although I have to make sure my sister doesnt find out. BTW- Dave, I got those damn injectors in FINALLY. So whenever your ready to stop by. Thanks as always man.
  10. I have had this issue as well. Especially when the under carriage sprayer is on. Goes away after no more then 10-20 seconds and I have no under tray either so maybe it is the steam doing something.
  11. Another kick ass vid man. They keep gettin better and better.Wish I could have made it.
  12. Ya im not sure about that thing they do at that sonics when I lived up there last it was ALOT of rice. Didnt see much for the subaru crowd and no lgt's but that was only once or twice I stopped by.
  13. Had no idea:( to bad i'll be up at winter park that day.
  14. I think everyone has summed it up pretty well so I'll just say it was awesome getting to meet some more of you guys. There was so much going on it was hard to really see everything and meet everyone. Was curious who the white leggy was with the sick wheels you were two cars down from me next to the blue wrx didnt really notice how sleek and stealth it was until you were leaving awesome ride. Thanks for the compliment bronconia I spent ALOT of time on my system its the one thing I actually really know something about, if you ever need a hand or help on an install let me know I love car audio. Looks like you guys got way better pics then I did. I was never really good at taking pics but what the hell here they are. Hope we can do this again I would like to get a chance to really look under the hoods more so and pick some of your brains.
