    My question is taking a ej251 and slapping 96 ej25d heads on them. I have a lead on a ej251 shortblock in great shape and have 96 ej25d heads out of a 97 Gt that I have laying around. I heard the ej251 have better bottom ends just not sure if the heads will work or not

    Check your knock sensor and clean your MAF.

    Clear codes and run again, then see what returns.

    Unless you've taken the cat off and shaken it, any rattles will be the heat shields.

    143,xxx on my 97 lgt. Just did new head gaskets and heads. Still have a bunch of work to do on it. Bought it at 142,xxx. Runs like a champ now. Eventually want to do the 2 stage twin turbo jdm swap.
