hi there, i seem to have the same problem as you do re: stereo problem. what happened next?
and im in auckland too .
curious to know if the damn thing can be sorted. new surround, aircon control is about $700 plus and aftermarket stereo but i found an interesting aux input hack here...

Just bought myself a '04 Outback 2.5i and I must say I'm impressed with the quality. Came from Japan with a japanese DVD/satnav/TV that I have no idea how to use here.
