  1. I didn't want black again, the gray seemed a bit drab, I didn't want blue because it was too noticeable. Really love the white and black contrast. Especially after seeing a few Legacy's on here with it.
  2. I briefly mentioned in the FB group but unfortunately I sold the Legacy. It was a bit of a tough decision to make but even after no longer having it for a few weeks I'm still satisfied with my decision. I bought a 2019 WRX STi Base with 18k miles on it. I originally was considering selling my 20th VW Golf GTI for a 2004 STi. Reason being, it seemed silly owning a car that I can't drive for 6 months during the winter. I eventually started looking at 2015-16's and considering trading the Legacy. I also wanted a manual daily. Talking to a buddy, he said go newer since they did a few updates. Using the RA block and such. Android auto. Yadda yadda. I still have to sell the GTI. It'll help bring down the loan on the STi a bit. So I found a white one local to me, 10 minutes away. I priced them out all over and this one was in a sweet spot. Came with the STi short shifter, Cobb catback, weather tech floor mats, rally flaps, rear splitter. I went out for a 15-20 minute test drive. At first I wasn't super impressed. It was definitely nicer in the interior, seats were comfier, better bolstering, handled well, rode quieter and surprisingly less rough than the Legacy with the suspension mods I had. I took it back and said I would think on it because it was a hefty investment. I drove the Legacy home and immediately started to see the things I disliked with the car. The exhaust is droney (the STi even with the catback was waaay quieter) the wind noise was worse, it rode worse, the throttle is very laggy for off-on input and it felt slow. I took a 1000 mile trip with the Legacy back in October and I kinda had the feeling then that maybe it was time to move on. This confirmed it. I immediately swapped the stock wheels with winters over, swapped the grill out and unloaded the tune, literally ripping it's soul out which was sad Ed from XRT and I spent a lot of time, going back and forth with revisions with improving the shifting feel and throttle on that car, and for future Legacy owners. It was a fun 5 years, between the tuning, learning the maintenance, building the suspension, vinyl wrapping, paint correction, all the little mods but I was ready for something different. I contemplated a lot about doing headers but I knew I was still gonna be wanting a 6 speed. The cost of a swap wouldn't be worth the trouble. I fell in love with the STi, it does everything I want and love the look. It's currently warrantied to 120k or 4 years so I plan on keeping it stock. I plan to do the cylinder 4 cooling mod, an AOS and maybe a mesh style grill or something. I installed winters on the OEM wheels so I'll be looking for a separate set of wheels to fit the old tires come spring. Other than that, just enjoying it how is. I'll remain on the forums in case anyone has questions in the future. It's been fun being part of the Legacy fam.   3. Headlight swap to 2013-2014. The Legacy was munching on some leaves down a bunch of country back roads.
  4. Don't worry, she's still alive! I swapped over to the 2013-2014 headlights today and installed VLED Micro Extreme low beams. I haven't done anything car related this year but finally got a new Canon Rebel T6 and thought I'd take some pics of her in her current shape. Pics are added in at the end of my first post!
  5. Yeah the got dang pump and belt was done 8k miles ago haha. Clutch at 30k miles, front shocks at 50k miles. It's had the suspension bushings, tierods, balljoints etc refreshed at some point since purchased new. It handles like a champ. I think that massive intercooler is slowing down the boost build though it seems to take a two seconds before it hits peak. It's only pushing 15psi and I think he had it tuned on 89 octane. My plan is K04 turbo, upgrade side mount intercooler, injectors, 3" downpipe and 3" catback etc. I'm debating about turning on Sunoco GT 260. I can easily get it in town, the city I work and all over this part of this state. I'll only be driving it 8 months out of the year and probably 200 miles a week or so. I found seats from a dude in Wisconsin. I'm possibly picking them up here Sunday. We're gonna meet half way, he wants the race seats. Already messaged a local vinyl wrap place to see what it'd run to get the front bumper wrapped, if we can color match wrap it even better. My buddy offered to buy it once I get an official bumper though. Honestly might be cheaper to find a used bumper, get it painted then sell that one instead of wasting time. I really dislike the camo wrap though.
  6. FLlegacy, I don't know why but I always pictured you being older. Lmao. Looks good so far. We did our share of landscaping already this year. Putting the boxwood, hydrangeas and rhododendrons in. So...I did a not so Subaru thing the other day. I bought a 2003 VW Golf GTI 20 Anniversary Edition with 88k miles on it. It was $6250. Not a spot of rust on it. It's been well maintained except the last yobo that had it for two years. Took a perfectly good OEM bumper off and sold it for an R32 spec one. Didn't paint it and threw a camo wrap on it. Also took out the OEM seats and put some Corbeau racing seats in there. They're not terrible but they're not comfortable and lack height adjustment (my short ass is 5'5). Overall the cars in great shape. Only a few small paint chips around the car. No scuffs or dents. The front was in a minor collision years and years ago. There's a small color variation but you'd have to really look to tell. The interior the headliner is still holding up fine as its been garage kept most it's life or covered. Only interior bits that are worn really is the center console plastic is pretty worn and under the steering column. It has an aftermarket FMIC (not really needed again Idk what he was thinking) and its straight piped from the cat back. Oddly it's not loud. The Legacy is actually louder in the cabin. I think outside the car though the GTI is louder, especially because he has a maniacal bang and pop tune. So if you shift at high RPM, it gunshots. It's a fun little car. It's been nice having a break from our 3500ish pound boat into a 2900lb, go kart hatchback. Also finally getting some gear rowing time and turbo enjoyment for once. It's great on gas. I've driven 200 miles and its not even at half tank yet. Tank size is 14.5 gallon. The 3.6R just chugs. I've got a steering wheel wrap on the way just like the one on my Legacy because hands keep sticking to this. Perforation helps so much. I've had mine wrapped in the Legacy almost since I bought it. I know, I know, it's not a Subaru but I'm a car guy and I need selection, haha. Honestly this is bad for me because now I kinda want to start collecting cars. The girlfriend isn't gonna be happy. I was originally looking at Miata's but seemed like a lot of work finding a good shell then spending money to make it quick. These easily do 300whp on stock internals with just exhaust, downpipe, SMIC, injectors and turbo. I actually found the previous previous owner on FB and we chatted awhile. He filled me in on all the details of the car. Wasn't happy with what the P.O. did to it. I told him it's in good hands now. I've got a good idea of it's history.

  8. I vote H&R springs. It's a bit more of a DROP (1.3" vs 1" for Eibach) but another member said he liked them more than the Eibach. I've got the Koni/Eibach setup and it's way better than stock. You should see 100k miles out of them pretty easily. That's pretty much the life of the car. Lots of info. There's suspension stuff on there as well. Don't worry. I did the math recently. I'm probably in about $6k of stuff on the Legacy. Between sway bars, end links, bushings, suspension, wheels, tires, headlights, grill, tune and cat back exhaust. I'm half awake so I'll chime back in tomorrow about the Koni install process.
  9. Nick on the FB group was complaining of a stumble issue in his LGT. Apparently Ed smoothed it out though. He's a bit cryptic sometimes with his messages but he's generally spot on. He's called out intake leaks on cars just looking at logs. Buddy of mine turned out he had a pin hole leak in his stock air intake piping. I haven't done any tuning recently sadly. We did a lot of R&D of ROM's for the shifting in the past. That and throttle response. I wish to turbo the 3.6 but it's just so costly.
  10. Buying a used car is a gamble. I got my 3.6R as a certified pre-owned with 35k miles. I went to a reputable dealer too. I highly suggest this to anyone that if you're buying a brand, buy it from a dealer that services that brand. Seem to have better luck that way. Not to say that there's not bad Subaru dealerships, though. Sad you didn't get to enjoy a Legacy
  11. That's quite the amount of Rhodos. We still gotta plan out our backyard. There's lots of space to put, essentially a large English garden. You got more pics? I like stuff for ideas for later. I forgot to mention but we also are refinancing our house after two years. Rates have dropped a lot. We're going from a 4.75% fixed 30 year to a 3.0% 15 year. The PMI is gonna drop off too so the amount extra I'll be paying is only half of what the Subaru payment was essentially. I've done a bit of research and decided on an NB2 Miata for the second car. They're pretty cheap. They're holding value if not appreciating a bit. Easy to work on. RWD, roadster. What's not to like really. Figured I'd drive it for a bit and start modding it to give the poor Legacy a break. I plan to do a quick one step polish on the Legacy next week on my week off. Detail the interior. Her VW Golf will get the works as well. Crazy but, 4 1/2 years of driving it I haven't really found another car I'd love move for what I use it for. I've never thrown a CEL in 4 1/2 years other than when my dumbass didn't torque one of my coilpacks aha. It's been reliable. The XRT tune with the catback and the premium fuel made it lot more livable. Pulls really nice at low RPM which is great for a daily. Shifts quick. Pedals responsive. Comfy seats. H/K audio system does fine by me. My only gripe really is the interior rattles.
  12. Mines actually doing the same thing. You might be able to find a junker and just take it off? Might be a lot cheaper, not sure.
