  1. Thank you for posting this. I am absolutely sick of the stupid seat belt chime! Sit somewhere and wait on someone - ding ding ding. Enough already. I have disabled with 20 click method twice before and can't seem to do it anymore. This works and took less than 30 seconds. (power seat - done from front without removing bolts)
  2. Exactly. This almost happened to me (and I was on the side of the road) and that's why I jerked the stupid plug! Auto or manual only please. This method doesn't make sense. Period.
  3. I'm fully aware the lights go off with the ignition. That's a good feature. It's when I get back in and go somewhere the next morning, it might be 5 or 10 mins before I realize the lights are on. The dash indicator doesn't help (blocked by comfortable steering wheel/seating position), and I don't always realize the guages are dim.
  4. Anybody know a simple way to add a bell that goes "ding-dong" when you turn off the car with the lights on - you know - like most cars used to have? I've already disabled the DRLs but would like the reminder bell.
  5. TRL, I'm all for safety features. If the life-saving benefits of DRL have been actually proven then auto manufacturers should employ them by default. However, they can also learn from this forum/thread that there are situations where they can be dangerous. This danger can be reduced by providing fully automatic lights (as in my other vehicle), as well as an override switch for those times when they are more of a nuisance than an accident preventer. I also don't believe it's of value to leave your light switch on all the time since the taillights will be lit up possibly causing other drivers behind you not to notice that you have applied the brakes - thereby potentially causing an accident. People tend to not "see" what they get used to.
  6. I have to get rid of DRL. The other night I was waiting by the side of the road for my wife to catch up to me and I almost got sideswiped! I wondered what the problem was (are they blind?) and then realized I hadn't turned the lights on! Either give me full auto, or don't help me. These things are gonna get me killed. They must go - now! Thanks for the post on how to get rid of them.
