  1. I've been curious just about the fronts. Consensus was the +08 STi front knuckles would bolt-up(assuming you also used STi struts), but I came across an ad for them on NASIOC and they guy said they wouldn't work on LGT(he said he tried, never said what the problem was).
  2. We're they able to tell you what exactly was wrong with it? Even with traditional transmissions, some shops will just tell you "it's bad"/needs total replacement even though it may just be a single worn part
  3. I think that only applies to the older motors /STi motors. The version 7 and 9 motors we were talking about are EJ207s. The EJ20X is a JDM Legacy engine? I remember looking at different ECU maps and do remember the Legacies started using 32-bit before the STi though.
  4. I did the version 9; basically like the version 7. If you can get away with running a 16-bit ECU, then you can keep the original cam, but will need a regular cable throttle. If you want to use your stock 32-bit ECU/DBW, then yes, you need to swap at least the intake cams and use the original LGT cam sensors. The 16-bit cams use "teeth" trigger and a VR sensor, while the 32-bit cams use slots and a hall-sensor. The cam timing teeth are also different(I know this because I tried using a signal converter, which didn't work). There's several work-arounds regarding the driver's side cam sensor. I've seen slotting out the original bore(do this while when changing out the cam) and also tilting the sensor to read the marks. I used a smaller-diameter "pencil" hall sensor and just mounted it off-set in the bore, and use some spacers and rubber washers to help seal the bore. On the passenger side, you can just slot-out the hole on the sensor itself.
  5. ....Maybe I won't sell my 6mt(still have the 5mt in the car).
  6. I should add that after I had the two fuel injectors go bad on #3, the spark plug gap became wayyy off compared to the other cylinders.
  7. I've had P0303 twice, and twice it was the injector. First instance; shaky idle and erratic acceleration(power would feel like it cuts on and off). Second instance, about a year later, shaky idle(though didn't shake as bad as before), complete lack of power, and I don't know if it did this before but noticeable drop in fuel economy when cruising.
  8. The EJ207 will require modification to work since they use the "old" style cam sensors and trigger(cam swap or switching ECU+DBC).
  9. Someone on the Forester forums modified STi struts to fit his car; basically slotting one of the holes and using washers as spacers. I'll see if I can find it(bookmarks are gone since HD died).
  10. Not too long ago I tried getting a Canadian set but all out of stock(according to their database) and they weren't making them anymore.
  11. I've noticed MAPDCCD doesn't use a e-brake cutout or is at least not wired for it...does this mean it doesn't disconnect the rear like DCCDPro or the stock DCCD units?
  12. Is the +08 STi lever a shorter throw than the Spec B? I prefer a shifter that's higher up, but already have a STi shifter.
