  1. Nah... We 'old' guys truly do not ever really grow 'up.' Out, maybe... I really have to agree with Scooby Fan on this one... Headed for 71, and except for the aches, pains, arthritis, etc., the head is still much, much younger. Cheers. Byll

  3. pfoyle: Yup. I figure they place the cardboard with the hole in it to keep the shifter shaft from moving. The styrofoam takes up space so the whole shifter mechanism itself cannot move. If they had cut the hole in the styrofoam with something other than a blunt object, the grease would be styrofoamless... Heh. Heh. Cheers. Byll
  4. My STI sts arrived today. Wow. When it comes to parts, I am a true vestal virgin - kind of. I remember the pictures of this device on the web site, and it looked heavy and had all kinds of cables attached to it. This being a cable shifter, I assumed the picture was of what I was purchasing... Seems not to be the case. No cables in the package. As for heavy, that was not accurate either. The shifter is very light... While seemingly built very well, most of the shifter is made of a hard, durable plastic, with other pieces being silicon plastic. Yep, there is some metal, also... Lots of good white grease, and things work smoothly. And so the education of old Byll continues. Any explanations or comments will be appreciated. Best. Byll
  5. *Update: 'Twas a snafu. I have taken care of the issue. Order is now 5 x 5. Move along... Truly nothing to see here. I am a bit confused and disappointed with my ordering experience for the sts. Because of multiple site glitches, it took me 4 times before I actually had my order in the software, at the correct price. I was ready to finalize the order, and had to leave the computer for about a half hour for household stuff. When I came back, I tried to finalize, and the software asked me for my user name and password again. I entered the information as requested, and finalized the order. The next screen simply said my cart was empty. There was no acknowledgement of the order - and in the last 20 minutes, no acknowledging email has been received. I called the site 888 number, and of course no one is there. Sure, I could do another order, but I am not certain of my first order status at this time, and I certainly do not wish to receive two shifters... Is what I have experienced concerning the lack of acknowledgement of the order a situation normal experience, or is it a snafu? Thanks. Byll
  6. Darn it. The 2012 vacation pictures cannot be found on the server. Cheers.
