If this problem goes untouched (assuming this is the actual problem at hand), will this kill the starter? I think I have this and I live in a cold weather climate.

Ok guys, any help would be appreciated.... On the original procedure list I am fine through Step 7... No dice on Step 8 (8. "The Found Device Wizard" should show up again, this time trying to install the USB Port.) I understand the Vag-Com driver installed fine but the USB driver must be installed. Going to the second procedure list from Adoniram, Step 5 (5. On the right, expand "Ports (COM & LPT)"), my list is different. I am on Windows Vista Home. See attached pic. Does this look familiar to anyone? In the USB controllers section there are the USB Host Controllers, and then the USB Root Hub. I can find the Open Port Subaru 1.3 in both controller and root hub. Where does the USB driver get installed? Thanks again for any help!
