  1. Looking for an unmarried AP-SUB-002 to return my 05 Outback XT to stock for California smog. If you have an AP married to your car and would like to rent it out, I'd pay $100 if you'd unmarry it, let me use it, and then return it unmarried.
  2. Cobb has Stage 1 (and 0?) maps that are CARB legal/certified, however from the docs it is only for the AP3. For sure whatever my map is is 10 years old and even if identical to the AP3 map isn't listed on the certificate. I don't know how CARB determines if an ECU doesn't have a factory map (and considering the manufacturer may update things over time) -- I'm assuming they've been able to download ECU settings for years via ODB and now have a collection of what is typically found on a particular model and can then fail anything that doesn't exactly match it. I haven't found any posts by Subbie owners who have had smogs since CARB said it would be enforced (mid-July) https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a37262122/what-californias-new-ecu-law-means-for-tuned-cars/ I don't want to take the chance and fail and then have to go through a more thorough inspection that would find my non-CARB uppipe. Plan is to sell the car, and I don't want the future owner to have an issue (tho inform them it isn't stock, and here is the stock uppipe that you can have reinstalled). In lieu of an AP to unmarry, I may need to go to a dealership and have them overwrite it. At least then I'd have a receipt that it was done.
  3. I believe I still have all the old Cobb files. I've tried a couple cables (it wouldn't connect to the PC) and lots of flexing of the PCB out of the case to see if it was a cold solder joint. It just appears dead. If I could re-flash it to stock with an OBD adapter and a stock map, I'd be happy to do that. I'm worried it would still appear as being modified to CARB/smog, and based on what Cobb has said it'll appear factory when an AP is unmarried.
  4. [Posting this here, rather than NorCal forum because it hasn't had a post in months] My 2005.5 Outback XT has the most basic Cobb map on it to keep the CEL off due to an EGT-less up pipe. I had mostly returned the car to stock before my last smog, but hadn't done the resistor CEL fix and instead used the Cobb to do it. Since then my Cobb has died. I planned to unmarry it and sell it, but it appears too late for that. I'm worried about failing my next smog in mid-October now that CARB is looking for tunes, and hoping someone in the Sacramento area would be willing to use their AP-SUB-002 Access Port to get my car back to stock. From reading Cobb's user forum, Cobb technical support says the unmarried AP just needs to be married to the car, then unmarried, and the stock map will return. I'd gladly take you out for beers/bring you a 6-pack if anyone could help.
