  1. the gr86 forums are likewise. on an aero thread. after all the testing awfulwaffle did n the lgt platform, I feel like I'm feeding trolls responding to the thread. their butt dynos are higher rated than a mustang dyno
  2. i looked at the grc before buying the gr86. I'd already had a turbo chevy sonic. Grc seemed too "boy racer"...I could have kept the wagon. Just wanted a small 6mt car. Have liked the brz look since they came out. So far, it's been everything I wanted. Except for the 2 grocery bag trunk space...that's hard to overcome.
  3. I should have canceled my membership here after selling the wagons. About once a week, I'm tempted to call up the new owner of my black wagon and see if they ll sell it back. Then I read a couple posts in this thread, and I'm ok again.
  4. drop the engine. it's alot easier to put in the new IAG closed deck shortblock..
  5. i had a box of them at ecm 23. gave one to every lgt owner that showed up. now I find out they are "rare". should have sold them for gas money or something
  6. hence why i suggested you post in that thread instead of here. there are alot of ppl that follow and comment on that one. on this one there's you and me...
  7. i went to coilovers to get more clearance to run a closer tolerance on sidewall to strut. no wear marks ever showed. i ran BFG KDW 2 (235/45/17) on 17x7 et 42 . no rubbing even at max g on track/autox
  8. copying from the thread...yita Here we go, here are your choices for rim widths (regardless of it being 17", 18", 19" or 20" rims): {offset in BOLD are the closest possible offset to OEM's scrub radius, you'll notice that once you go past 8" wide rims, you will run out of room on the inboard side to put/stuff any more of the wheel/tire to maintain the OEM scrub radius.. 8" and up will increase positive scrub radius} 6.5" (+34mm to +60mm offset, +55) *for 2.5i only 7.0" (+37mm to +57mm offset, +55) 7.5" (+40mm to +54mm offset, +55) 8.0" (+43mm to +51mm offset, +53) 8.5" (+45mm to +48mm offset, +45) *will need to roll the fenders if tires are wider than 255 9.0" (+43mm to +45mm offset, +43) *will need to roll the fenders if tires are wider than 255 9.5" (+38mm to +40mm offset, +38) *will need to roll the fenders if tires are wider than 255
  9. https://advancedautofab.com/chassis-set-up/ is near you. have the right equipment and lots of knowledge. I raced against them a few times, they know which way to turn a wrench from their page " If you have never run at a particular track before, we can get you where you need to be. In order to setup a car, we can focus on aspects such as: Corner Weights & Percentages from Digital Scales Ride Height + Weight Jacking Rake + Wedge Settings Sway Bar Neutralization Camber, Caster, Toe, and More We can also work with you at the track to get your car fine-tuned to your driving style. We will provide expertise in adjusting shock dampening, front and rear sway bar stiffness, spring rates, aerodynamic balancing, and more."
  10. sidewall flex is a real thing. you could run low profile stiff (performance) tires and that would reduce chance of rubbing. are you putting wider tires on same rim or new rims with wider tires? better tires handle better than wider cheap tires...but what's the fun in that?
  11. there's an entire section devoted to wheels https://www.legacygt.com/forum/35-wheelstires/ and a thread where someone tested every possible wheel/tire size https://www.legacygt.com/topic/121934-faq-offsets-sizes-for-rims-and-tires-on-the-gt-xenonk-version-vol-2/page/10/ 18x8 +53 is standard upgrade.
  12. The gr86 forum finally got around to talking about aero issues when the oem mufflers are replaced with a straight pipe. while looking for the studies @awfulwaffle did a few years ago, I came across my first attempt. still one of my favorite pics from owning the race wagon . Gunnar's wagon with a duct-taped coat hanger and yarn at triple digit speed. Wagon roof is very aerodynamic...
  13. oh my! sad to see this one up for sale? damd fenders 6mt oh my
