  1. About 2 months ago acquired 08 OB Ltd "regular" non XT. White. Only change: took off the 08 factory seven spoke mags and replaced with Legacy GT 5 spoke. Think they're better looking and easier to keep clean. Only complaint: daytime instrument illumination is so weak that I can't see tack/speedo during bright daylight. Really miss my 05 Legacy GT electro-illuminated dash. Does anyone know what I might do about that.
  2. I've been driving Subarus pretty much since my first Legacy wagon exposure in '90. Just picked up a white '08 OB Ltd. After about one year with a BMW 325 iT wagon, I got nervous about long term maintenance costs - and went back to Suby. I'm going to replace the OB 7 spoke mags with 05 -07 Legacy GT mags. I'm a clean wheel freak and these are easier to keep clean. Last year we sold our '05 Legacy GT 5MT wagon because of the uncomfortable passenger seat. My wife and I feel the OB seats are will be better. If not, I'm going to get them re-padded. We'll see. With all due respect to the Bimmers out there, I'm just a lot more comfortable in the OB; not a lot of power, but a great ride. And, I needed more room to carry my tuba. The BMW 325 wagon is really small in the back end - somewhat to my surprise. I hadn't done my homework in that area. All for now but I could go on and on.
  3. Hi, all: I"m a long time Suby fan/driver. Started out with 90 Legacy wagon, then one of the first OBs in 96, then a 99 Legacy GT sedan w/5 speed, a 2002 Forester (we still have that one), an 00 OB Ltd wagon, an '05 Legacy GT 5speed wagon (one of the last great Legacy GT wagons) and I just picked up a used 2008 OB 2.5 Ltd wagon. So, to summarize, we are now an '00 OB Wagon that's retired down in Palm Springs with 122,000 miles on the clock; the '02 Forester and, now, the 08 OB.

Question for all you readers: During daytime driving, the illlumination of the speedo & tach is really weak. Does anyone know how to increase the daytime readabililty?? Night time is fine.

    Suggestions welcome.
