  1. The stock head unit is 4 x 12W RMS @ 0.1% THD (with a tailwind, downhill). Any claims of greater power are full of ummm... optimism.
  2. Jason... e-mail me at "myusername"@jlaudio.com and I will be happy to answer all your questions.

    Best regards,

    -Manville

  3. hey there Manville. My name's Jason. I just wanted to introduce myself and show a little appreciation of your Legacy. I worked for a JL Audio Retailer (only one in my city for a quite a long time) from 2000-2005. Saw the advent of the w3,w6,w7 and slash/E series amps. Man that was a good run.

    Currently own 500/1, 300/4, 300/2, TWO 13w6's, jl xr650's, vr600's, 10w3v2, e1400, e4300 and an assortment of other goodies.

I was looking at doing OEM integration on my 2008 Legacy Spec B, as there is no cost affective way of replacing the Factory HU. I know your a JL MAN, but what are you thoughts of the rockford 360.1 vs the 441 JL CS. I dont like rockford, never have, but I have a bead on one for the right price. Just like to get your perspective.

As well, when if ever do you think JL will release a Stealth box for the LEGACY SEDAN?

And finally, My 300/4 is damaged somehow. Channels 3&4 work, channels 1&2 do not. How can I facilitate getting it repaired as I dont want to deal with the "new" jl dealers in my city (they are kinda cut throat and dont have the best reputation).

Thanks again, and nice to meet you.

  4. The only way to connect directly to the Subaru head unit would be through something like the Jazzy mod or via an FM modulator (yuk) or FM transmitter (double-yuk). For the cleanest results, you can use the CleanSweep CL441dsp's aux input to pipe in the audio from a stand-alone HD-Radio tuner. You will need aftermarket amps and speakers, though. Here are a couple of current choices: JVC: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=186650&i=105KTHDP1&tp=134&avf=Y Directed: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=186650&i=60744000&tp=134&avf=Y
  5. Suit yourself, but the factory EQ affects the subwoofer's range as well... but it is true that you would need an amp and new front speakers for a Cleansweep to make sense. http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/5995/volcomparedefeated8et.th.gif The blue trace is at Volume "10" The red trace is at Volume "25" The green trace is at Volume "35" (Yes, the description on the graph is wrong)
  6. If you're having those kinds of problems, we would be happy to replace it under warranty. The failures you describe are not common. Manville Smith JL Audio, Inc.
