  1. I realize this thread is old, but as I believe forums are the key to loads of important information that would be lost otherwise, I wanted to share the photos and more detailed instruction of this process that I took today with y'all. They're hosted on NICO, where I am a moderator. If anyone is interested in details and photos for the above mentioned process, follow the link here: http://forums.nicoclub.com/how-to-retrofit-aftermarket-speakers-into-stock-locations-t597998.html
  2. Thanks for posting up your resolution. It got me thinking about my situation a little more. The engine in my car is an LKQ replacement. I'd guess that the electronics are original to my car, but if they weren't and they were replaced with the engine, my key and/or dash may not work correctly and cause the car not to start.
  3. Looking forwards to your result. I have similar issues that really need to be resolved.
  4. Howdy fellas. Getting out of the Miata game- bought myself a cherry LS1 Trans Am Convertible. If you know anyone interested, here's a link to the ad. http://www.miataturbo.net/cars-sale-trade-6/1991-mazda-miata-%243500-79999/ Also, my damned Subaru isn't running at all after replacing the head gaskets. Is there anything you might be able to suggest? http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/help-engine-wont-start-after-head-gasket-job-er-hc-228686.html
  5. How does it drive in comparison to your NA? Other than being cushier/more ergonomic and comfortable- does it handle the same or better? Feel faster? Shift as well? I've been kicking around the idea of getting a club NC in place of my turbo NA and keep reading the same phrase: "The NC is a better car, the NA is a better Miata." Do you feel similarly since you own both?
  6. My 1.6 has the unused oil port on the exhaust side. Well, its used now... I thought the 1.8's needed a feed line near the oil filter or somewhere on the intake side of the block? What are you running for fuel right now? Pretty easy, shouldn't take much of any effort.
  7. Nice buy! Check the crank for potential 'short nose crank' issues and repair it if you can. http://www.miata.net/garage/crankshaft.html As for forums- miata.net is great for searching out an issue. Their garage and articles section is fantastic for how-to's and DIY work. The car is very easy to work on. The members are generally older and pretty friendly. miataturbo.com is great for anything turbo related or if you need something for sale. They have a very active selling and buying section. They are a rough crowd (seems like the age is a bit lower than at m.net), but I've learned that if you demonstrate mechanical knowledge and use decent grammar, you'll be just fine there.
