  1. Don't see many Leggy's around. I do pass a white '13 WRX a couple times a week in Gilberts area, a couple other Scoobs here and there. Anyone rocking a newer LGT? My car is getting up there in miles and am thinking about a new ride come spring. A new WRX or LGT in white is at the top of that list.
  2. This thread was indispensable to me replacing my driver's rear hub yesterday. Took me an hour and a half, including sandwich break. My local NAPA got me an SKF hub assy, so far GTG! Some notes: **Spray everything and let it soak real good. I took my wheel off Friday, sprayed the bejeesus out of everything. Took wheel off again Monday morning, sprayed and let soak in before starting the repairs. This is crucial! Everythign came apart like butter, despite the Illinois winters. **Axle nut: There was no way I was going to be able to un-lock the nut with a punch/screwdriver, so I opted for an impact gun. With the wheel off and after soaking everything, I popped the center cap off, reinstalled wheel with 2 lug nuts, lowered car and applied E-brake, and impacted that sucker right off. Same idea for installing (or in my case, re-installing) the axle nut at the end. I used a torque wrench that tops out at 150lbs, and then gave it another quarter of a turn before staking the nut. **Hub puller = gotta be a necessity. I was worried it might pull the bearings apart but I lucked out. Where this method took me 2 minutes, I can guess that using a large rubber mallet, I would have been smacking the old hub for a long while. **E-brake assy: No fuss, no muss. All E-brake parts are attached to the backing plate that is held on by the hub. I was able to take the whole shebang off as one, pop out the hub with a ball-peen and some light smacking and drop the new hub in. This was soooo much easier than I envisioned. I can't remember the last time my car was this quiet (well, except for the exhaust...) Cheers!
  3. Naw, the stockers are my winter shoes. Need to update the ol' avatar. <---- Edit, I did!
  4. Yah, it was a sedan. Edited my post. The guy didn't seem too interested in my ride, even less with the wave. I am disappoint.
  5. Black 2005 or so LGT sedan NB on Randall before Algonquin, this morning 'round 10am. I'm guessing not a member here, seeing as he didn't look over as he cut around me, in a hurry to get cut-off by merging traffic. I still waved, then lol'ed.
  6. Hmm. If it was Friday or Saturday night it would've been me, but no go yesterday. I work off of Pyott just North of Algonquin, so 6 nights a week I go that way.
  7. Yo, i have the same problem with my 07. All 4 wheels are corroding from the center cap, I brought the car back to the dealer in schaumburg about a year ago and they took pics and had the subaru rep review them, and they denied me, saying it was due to the salt and what not, I keep my car clean all year round. So you called SOA and they are giving you all new wheels, I'm going to try the same tomorrow. You from stc I think I seen you up at lundeens during the summer. any tips for when i call

    thanks tony

  8. SWP Legacy GT Northbound on Randall just North of 72. I was going SB. Nice car!
  9. Saw a silver LGT turning from 31 SB to Algonquin Road WB last Thursday, 8:30ish. I always see a Blue LGT on Rte 47 SB near McDonald Road in the morning, 8:45ish, when I'm coming from my girlfriends place in Sycamore. Someones wife maybe? I've waved but I got a look.
  10. Ha, that'd be me. You've got the DGM Spec B I'd assume? Good looking car.
  11. Added myself, out of boredom with my workday.
