  1. I'm trying to separate my td04L exhaust side housing. I feel like I need the jaws of life or something. I have soaked it and put it in a vice hitting it with a dead blow hammer. What do I do?torch? Oven?

  3. Ya, I suppose it is a tad messy, I have an SS Swap as well. Mine is a 1990 so.. heh. But as far as messy builds go it is C-L-E-A-N X^D It is hard to tell what all is going on there even though you took some decent pictures. Making the hoses clean on these motors is a real pain. My vacuum setup is practically stock except i snuck a catch can in, between by combining all the valve cover hoses into one, and then combining two of the vacuums for the valve covers into one as well. I don't really like my setup yet though and I'm not even sure if it's safe to run this way. The charcoal canister you have is like mine and I'm not sure what to do there as the other vacuum diagrams show it being hooked upto things. I see you have a different maf, and I assume you must be running a robtune? I know everyone keeps saying jecs maf, my problem is I have no idea which Jecs maf ppl are talking about. I google it and find several part numbers, do you know of a website or have a link or which vehicle it comes off of? Does it plug directly into the stock connector for sure? And it can't run off the stock ecu im sure? Alrighty thanks in advance bro. I know a tune is needed for bigger injectors monkeyposeur because that way you can take advantage of the new resistance in injectors.
  4. BCMAXX - Do you have anymore (detailed) pictures of your engine bay? If not can you put like 50 up here? lol That is so clean and nice man!! Also shoot usliberty, any old turbo's for sale? heh. It looks like i already overpayed on an ebay one i found used for $115, was going to rebuild. Meh then i found one in a junkyard in my state for $30 ... shoot. I still have all stock ej22t stuff so who knows how much these stock heads will handle. Im sure if i do a valve grind and what not this stock setup could be usable for 250bhp+. Building a sex motor on a stand with a spare ej22t block would be a lot more fun than trying to improve the stock setup; but i guess keeping my 90 Leg on the road is important too. I just need a deece more or less drop in turbo if anyones selling one for cheap? Hopefully i lose this ebay one i bid on! heh later days.. ps whats it mean when your a jr member?
  5. yeah, i want to upgrade to A TD04, I am not sure which brand is the most cost effective for brand of turbo. Fastest spool etc... If anyone knows the best turbo upgrade for the money let me know
  6. Ya no joke. Super hard to keep clean. Anywho; I guess what I did to my first gen today wasn't good. I've been burning oil the past few days & idk why. When I shift it spews or if I take my foot off the gas & let the motor slow me down in vacuum it burns as well. I was running Havoline syn 10-30. Since Im burning (about 2k into oil change) I decided to do a flush & change since I also had a small lifter tick. Doin this on my n/a car always fixed tick. The gunk md3 said not for turbo diesel... well some1 told me its bad for any turbo car... Well shoot!!! Anyway I put in the Pennzoil Platinum as its coming out w/ lowest wear results of any store bought syn u can get. Still smoking but not as bad. Also runnin Motorkote additive. I am thinking of running a Delo 1540 is there any adverse effects such as the gasoline, mixing with the diesel oil breaking it down? Ideas? Rings? Turbo seals?.. haven't checked compression yet.. will. Also vacuum guage used to read 20-22 now its 18-20... makes me think rings.. idk. Could be pcv related but its pretty new. Also in my catchcan there's yellow baby diarrhea lookin stuff smells kinda like gas? And no I'm not usin coolant. Have new Cometic mls head gaskets

  8. Got a block today and I was wondering if there's a way to tell if the crank is nitrided or not. (Ran vin) it looks sleeved for sure. Its out of 05 turbo legacy. Its an EJ255

  10. I did the ej22t swap I am I in a legacy and I see the running good the only thing is with the factory boost controller its only run about 5 to 7 psi is that normal and can I run more? If I can run more what way would you recommend and then how hard is it to get an intercooler in that beast
  11. So I did a ej22t swap and new 5 speed, well 80k less miles on it at least lol and 2nd gear still works so thats fun. But I didn't change my harness, i have the little boost control solenoid, pressure sensor and that thing that looks like a fuel injector resistor of sorts. I have the ej22t computer and harness but i didnt want to take my whole dash apart to replace the harness cuz stuff always gets broken. Im wondering if i can just tap in the boost controller stuff into my blanks in my ecm plug and then my new computer will work? cuz it wont run as of yet, my old ecm runs the turbo engine but im kinda worried it might lean out. also boost acts wierd and doesnt work sometimes....
  12. How many pounds can my ej22t motor take? and does anyone know which part # if any is correct for ARP studs, or any higher performance head studs would be? Brand and number would be cool, i found some arp numbers on their site but im not sure if they will really work, they don't specifically say they do. eBay is also confusing me.
  13. Well i looked EVERYWHERE!! And no one has the parts! It almost makes me want to sting away from subaru, its sad because until now i was completely in love with them. I ended up having to order a junk yard 5 speed with 160k miles. It kind of sucks, because im all setup to drop this ej22t in and also i don't even know if my flywheel will bolt up to the ej22t block, nor am i sure if the 5 speed will even mate up, im going to test fit it all out when i get my newerrr trans in and check and see if it matches up to the ej22t, unless someone can illuminate me on this question. When im done im sure ill have plenty of intel, if not i will be putting all the ej22t heads and junk on my ej22 block. lemme know i guess if u have any knowledge of this yo. laters -Aaron
  14. I'm installing a 2.2T motor into my non turboed legacy, got the heads harness and ecu, but my second gear is going out in my 5 speed. How the hell do i find a Rebuild Kit for this beast? Like wtf?! where do i find anything for this car! So frustrating, its so sexy has 17's nice paint, good condition i just cant find shit to make it better
