  1. I put a toggle switch on the blue wire and when I go to the dealer for warranty/maintenance work I can flip them on again! The toggle switches come with about 6 inches of wire on both sides so you can easily have the switch rest/hang by the plastic cover and just reach your fingers in to switch it. You could even drill a small hole and mount the toggle with the supplied nut. I live in MN and went on a trip to Canada with the car and I fit right in with all the other freaks with DRLs!! When I returned to the USA, I switched them off!!
  2. The perimeter alarm came with the car (along with remote start). I had the XM module installed at the dealer. I seem to be doing better since the weather has warmed up 30 degrees F. I did accidentally leave the running lights on (switch on steering column) for about 6 hours or so and had to have a jump. I left the inside lights on in my Honda Pilot and Honda Accord overnight and the car started right up. I am sure I have a weak battery. I just have to prove it to the dealer.
  3. NO I never got it done. This is a little too much for me to do myself. I know I probably could do it but if I could not finish it my wife would not be too happy! I currently can not start my car tonight so I got a call into Road side. Man this car is a pain!
  4. I finally did it. I installed a switch on the blue/blk stripe wire (on the white plug from the DRL unit) so I can turn them back on if needed. I can switch them on and off without taking down the bottom cover. I did have to remove the cover to get up there and wire in the switch. It is nice to be able to control the lights myself. I am sure the neighbor appreciates not having lights shined in his bedroom at night. I resorted to pulling the e-brake to turn off the DRLs just in the driveway to reduce shining the neighbor before I had a chance to do this mod. Thanks for the information guys. I would have never figured out what wire controlled the DRLs and how to do it.
  5. Has anyone does this on an 07 lgt ltd with 5 auto? I am hoping I could meet up with someone in my area who has done this already to their cars with success! I would appreciate some expertise. Thanks.
  6. 300 miles and lost all the presets and the XM radio de-activated this morning. All I got was channel 1 on XM. I had to reactivate it. I did that online instead of calling XM. I used the remote start so I did not know if it cranked slowly (was not out there!). It has been -10 degrees F around here lately (daily high temp!). I do not do short drives in this type of weather in any of my cars. So, the battery should be charged fine by the charging system. My car is in the garage all the time. I will start manually from now on to see how it cranks. The car came with remote start and the extra security system (perimeter) and I had dealer install XM. I have had the car 1.5 weeks so far! I had all the stations set, 1 am, 2 fm and 3 sat (XM). That sucks. This is the first time I had this happen without having the battery disconnected for service. This has happened on my first junkie cars but none of my new ones in the last 5+ years.
  7. I hear ya. I am just trying to avoid the dealership trying to blame that wire job on some issue that may creep up in the future. That is all. I am going to just cut the wire so there is enough room to put in a splice when the time comes to sell or trade. Thanks for all your input.
  8. Seth1784, You are funny! That has run through my head. I made up my mind that I am just going to do it. I have already done a dry run. I will try again to remove the wire. If I can not, I will put a rocker switch in there so I can switch them back on at time of trade in or selling it.
  9. Cool... I just have to do it when the wife is not looking! She does not want me to mess with a new car. With my Toyota Camry, I had to pay the dealer (to remove DRL) to make her happy! That might be the way to go since it makes life at home smoother! I did however, remove the panel and take off white connector and lifted the tab and tried to push the blue/black wire out but it would not budge. So I put everything back together. I might give it one more shot. I might just try again and not mention anything to my wife and she might not notice?
  10. 07 Legacy GT Limited: Out of a handful of dealers within 100 miles from me, I finally talked one into doing the job (DRL removal). He stated $113 to do it. Others said against the law. I told them there is no law (federal or otherwise) about DRLs. They basically said there is no way to do it. I have to wait till I get enough nerve to do this on a brand new car, cut or remove wires.
