  1. Anyone have any experience with Import Sports Performance over off Iliff and Quebec. Place has been around as long as I can remember and it looks like they have an import specialists repair shop now. They are very close to me, considering hitting them up for maintenance and repairs from now on. Anybody have experience?
  2. Guys- I am in my car all day. Every day. And my stereo sucks! Have a 2005 2.5gt 5spd wagon silver. My CD player went out about a year ago. This is the second stock headunit on the car. This headunit drains by batter so I have a relay installed which cuts power to the headunit when key is removed. This whole situation is annoying. No CD player, and I lose my presets everytime I turn off the car. I want someone to place a new headunit, possibly in the cubby area, rewire all the audio to go through the new headunit so I can use the stock climate control unit, bypass stock headunit, and use new headunit with an i-pod integration. I want this done incredibly badly. Who can reccomend someone who can complete this work for me? It would be an absolute godsend. Thanks guys, Mike
  3. Question for anyone that has had these problems with their headunits: Since you began having problems with your headunit, have you noticed any issues with battery drainage? My car won't start if I don't start it up every day or so. The battery just slowly drains. I just had my leads and the battery replaced, which the shop claimed were both bad. Alternator seems fine, since I only have problems starting if I let the car sit for a few days. However, I am still having this issue. Seems to have gotten worse ever since my CD player has refused to function whatsoever. What I am wondering is if a bad connection or something could be causing my drainage issue. Is the CD player on a different power supply than the HVAC? Does the CD player draw power independently from the radio? I still have radio functionality, just no CD, and my battery keeps dying. Please help, somebody, anybody. Sick and tired of bringing my car in.
  4. Mine began to spaz out all the time, as of now, my CD player has been completely dead for 3 months or so. Miraculously, now that my CD player no longer functions, I haven't been having any more problems with the HVAC going haywire. My Radio still functions, HVAC functions perfect, but CD is completely dead. Sucks.
  5. Haven't had a chance to take her in yet for a checking up but I have made some observations. Now, my CD player is completely fubar. It won't play or eject any of the discs that are inside of it right now. It really won't even turn on 9 times out of 10. However, I have some good news. My HVAC no longer intermittently freaks out! . Hooray. I would like to listen to some CD quality music sometime, but at least no "shorting". So I am basically thinking it neccesarily has to be a glitch in the CD player and not the HVAC? Furthermore, I took a short trip over the weekend and upon returning to the airport my battery was dead... a quick kick start got me going, but. This is the first time my car has not started after leaving her for a few days. Granted, there are MANY things that could be going on, bad battery, alternator, it has been very cold etc. However, I am wondering if maybe the CD player not functioning could be somehow slowly draining my battery. I need to take her in so they can run some tests.
  6. Thanks for bumping this thread. This problem has reached the apex of bad for me, I am hoping. Now, like clockwork this whole thing happens to me everytime I drive my car over 30 minutes. But, the problem has gotten worse. Now, my CD player absolutely refuses to work. In fact, i can't even eject the discs that are currently in there. My Head/HVAC was replaced already by the previous owner. If I take it to a dealer, do you guys think SOA will cover the costs?
  7. This has been happening to me more and more often. My HVAC and radio go dead and become responsive. The situation is always accompanied by a loud pop/shorting sound in my speakers followed by the HVAC/Radio going dead. This weekend, it happened 4 times on an hour and a half drive. My windshield started fogging up each time, while I am driving 70 mph on a busy highway. Now, it is a safety issue. BTW the previous owner told me it happened to him once, and he had the head unit replaced already.
  8. It's a 2.5gt WAGON. They only made those in 2005 I thought? So, therefore it must be a 2005?
  9. I checked out Super Rupair the other day for an oil change, service etc. I was happy with their customer service, and my car seems ok but I need advice. Here is my issue: I have (I thought) a 2005 2.5gt wagon 5mt. The guys at the shop didn't believe me that it was a 2005. They were basically telling me I am wrong and judging by the "emissions plate" it is a 2006? I told them I was positive it was a 2005. They didn't believe me. Is this a sign that: it is simply a car they don't see often, am I wrong, they are incompetent?
  10. Please do post his info! Also, anyone have any reccomendations for service/aftermarket installs and sales in the Boulder/Denver area? Anyone had experience with SuperRupair, or Flatirons Subaru?
