  1. I read that with Mazda, there is a module (and you have to replace the USB ports with the 2018+ ports that use the same "opening") that you can buy to add Car Play to older models. Has anyone heard of anything like this for the 2015-2017 Subaru's? I have asked the same question directly to Subaru and Crutchfield. If anything comes of it, I'll share it here.
  2. Anybody replace their speakers only? I find the HK speakers to be clear and nice, but too harsh in the midrange/vocals. I was unable to make it sound better by playing with the Bass/Mid/Treble adjustments. I find myself always turning the volume down, because it's just painful at high volumes. It's not that I don't like loud, only in this car it's a bit painful. In my wife's Toyota with a JBL system, streaming the same music is totally fine. So wanted to replace the speakers only and looked at Crutchfield to see what they had and there seems to be a good selection. What are your experiences for those who replaced the speakers only?
  3. So it seems that to install the OEM splash guards drilling needs to happen. On the rear, it seems that the drilling is all plastic, which is fine, but the front, there seems to be sheet metal to drill through. This seems crazy to me, as it is asking for rust to begin. Does anyone know if this is true, or if you only need to drill through plastic as well? Thanks!
  4. I found this. But it's from 2017: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SrJlG8CR2J1_lbTClsbx4SeqOxKjgyWC I contacted Subaru and two local dealers, but it seems that no one can help. I don't think this is something Subaru wants to be involved in as there seems to be no information from them. Mazda and Toyota make this very easy. Strange.
  5. The link supplied in this discussion now gives an error 404 page. Does anyone know if this is something Subaru will provide? I was able to get it for a Mazda and a Toyota from their manufacturer's website, would the Toyota update work on a Subaru? The system seems to be from the same supplier, the screens and functions are nearly identical.
  6. Hello everyone. I just recently purchased a 2016 Legacy 3.6 and I like to put together a maintenance spreadsheet so when the time comes, I know what to buy (lubricants, filters, drain/fill plug washers, spark plugs, gap, etc) So in my research, I was unable to find out the following: CVTF Transmission Fill Plug Washer Front Differential Fill and Drain Plug Washer Rear Differential Fill and Drain Plug Washer No online Subaru parts resellers seems to sell these washers and I can't even find the part numbers. But before that, it seems that there are several types of front and rear diff this car can have. (VA1 Type, VA2 Type, T-Type) and the front Diff is different if you have the TR580 or the TR690 CVT. I assume the 3.6 has the TR690. Can anyone shed some light / clarifications on what's what? Thanks!
