  1. Replaced the camshaft sensor today. Damn is that thing hard to get to. Removed the airbox and a couple breather tubes just to be able to barely get my hands to it. The one bolt the holds it on was loose. Took a little doing, but was finally able to unscrew it with my middle finger and index finger. Impossible to use your thumb, so good luck if you have to change it. Putting the new one in was loads easier. Tightening it is doable with the smallest 10mm socket and ratchet. Took the car for two test drives on seperate occasions. Nary a problem. I know the ecu needs time to relearn everything, but it was throwing the code after two minutes of clearing it before. Now it is running pretty smooth. Also found a possible vac leak after the maf and fixed it. Only time will tell now.
  2. Thanks. I will deffinately be replacing then. Not too expensive to change both out. Those plus that cam sensor "should" fix my issues.
  3. How much oil am I expected to lose by taking one of those AVCS solenoids out? Doing this in my apt parking lot. Is it even a good idea to try it, or should I take it in? APTs are anal as hell with their vehicle maintenance policy and fluids.
  4. Thanks for the reply Mike. This is the reason I haven't sent any logs recently for my e-tune. Didn't want to bother you with it at UConn when I spoke with you and Brian. Figured I could look it over first. Car actually died on the way there. Had to turn around and get my wifes car. I will be checking the sensor when I get a chance. Got one on order just in case.
  5. Yes. Same code. Never changed the sensor. The techs were both certain that wasn't the problem. It's a $100 toss up though. It would suck if it didn't fix the problem. Always good to have an extra though if it ends up being good. AVCS dropping to zero is also cause for concern.
  6. Problems still persistent as ever. The lead tech and technician at Subaru were so certain that they had found the problem. Told me it was the ECU. Had diagnosis sheets and everything. Gave them a known good ECU and had the keys registered to it. Bought a Cobb AP and got an e-tune. Everything was going fine until today. Code popped 3 seperate times. Caught it on a datalog. Any reason the camshaft would just shut off like it did? Other than being a faulty sensor? Line 1392 at the 125 second mark.
  7. UPDATE: Problem came back with force. I was driving apx 50mph and the car lost power and throttle response for a few seconds. CEL came on and car regained throttle response. P0340 for the camshaft circuit. Took it in and they tested the circuit and found that one of the signal lines was showing something like 10Mohms of resistance. This is probably what was causing my issues from the get go, but it never threw the code. Having them test the harnesses to see if it is only the one wire. Hopefully it doesn't decrease the weight of my wallet too much.
  8. Oil light started coming on. Took it in and found that the oil pump was on it's last legs. Also had the gas pedal replaced. Apparently the sensor at the pedal was dying. No problems since replacement. Been about 500 miles.
  9. TYPE OF STUTTER/STUMBLE Steady throttle: Steady slight stumble at idle. Car has stalled in slow traffic and one time in parking lot with car in drive and foot on the gas(simulated traffic). MODS Exhaust: SPT cans and CNT Highflow Cat DP Fuel: 93 Turbo: VF52 Tuner and revision of tune(if you don't mind): Road Tune MAINTENANCE Sensors changed: Rear O2 Plugs changed: OEM OTHER SYMPTOMS Check Engine Light: Rear O2 sensor (P0420) RESULTS What has or hasn't worked for you: Carb cleaner tested vacuum lines/Intake Mani/Injectors, Cleaned MAF sensor, Changed air filter, SeaFoamed fuel system Replacing the O2 sensor removed P0420 Timed the car to get a better sense of when things were happening. The timeframe below happens each time(0:00 to 4:40). Started timer 0:30 Almost stalled twice(had batt unplugged) 3:56 Almost stalled/big stumble 4:30 Started hunting for idle (possibly from entering closed loop) 4:40 Slight stumbles are constant/no code/rpms remain at a constant 800 18:00 Carb cleaner tested vac lines, intake manifold, and injectors(no _______change in rpm 25:00 Shut the car off Drove the car for well over 30 minutes. Gave her the beans and everything. Power is all there still. Stumble is felt during low idle, i.e. sitting in parking lot or slow traffic. Low on funds right now so can't really get it diagnosed. Possible front O2? Gunked up throttle? I can at least afford a nother bottle of Seafoam for the intake. Any other ideas for an empty wallet guy?
  10. Anyone know who owns the gold 4th gen LGT that frequents the Waterford/Montville, CT area? Red banner on windshield but didn't catch what it said. Saw in Waterford near the Crystal mall and then again on Rt 32 in Montville, CT.
  11. Top pic is my car on stock struts and Tein S tech springs. The bottom two pics are Koni Sport struts and Eibach Pro springs that I just put on. Do yourself a favor. Don't give your money to Tein. Do it the right way the first time.
  12. Spotted a young lady driving a black 05 or 06 legacy with pink wheels and pink subi stickers in rear window driving through Norwich, CT. Honked my horn at you.
  13. Yes. All is well. My son is better off today than me. His stings don't itch. I have the Cortizone next to me. Itching like crazy.
  14. Took my son to his first Tiger Scout outing yesterday. We went to a place called Ayers Gap here in CT. It was a nice little hike up to a tiny waterfall where all the kids then had a snack. The scout leader decided that it would be fun to follow the stream back to the trail head. About 5 minutes into the hike back all hell broke loose. One of the kids inadvertently stepped on a yellow jacket hive that was inside a log. Panic ensued for the next 15-20 minutes. My son and I were stung 3 times each. Many of the other children got multiple stings as well. Not one of the pack leaders had a first aid kit. I include myself in that list. Lesson to be learned here is to stay on the marked trails. Also bring a first aid kit. Don't expect others to be the responsible ones. I stopped and got some meds on the way back. No swelling, just a little pain and itching. Again, this was our first father/son scouting adventure. Hope he isn't traumatized by the event. I may have caused more damage to him than the bees, the way I was swatting at them.
